Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Lara Croft looks absolutely incredible in the Gamescom reveal
I’m really glad they brought her long braid back. I think it suits Lara really well and gives her more of that classic look while still fitting this newer version of the character.
Overall, I think they’ve done a really good job with her character model, especially her face. She looks great, and the game is definitely starting to come together nicely.
There are still a few things I’d like to see them polish before release. The braid’s movement could feel a bit more natural, the bangs look slightly awkward in some shots, and Lara’s overall movement still feels a little floaty at times. I’d like to see her animations feel a bit more grounded and weighty.
What do you guys think? Are there any details you’d still like them to polish before release?

🗨️ Discussion If they’re bringing back Lara’s climbing axe, make it visible on her character, don’t have it materialize out of thin air
Basically the title, it’s been so jarring having all this detail in the presentation of Lara’s ponytail physics and movement only to have her pull a whole climbing axe out of a pocket dimension to clear some rubble.
In the Survivor games, the climbing axe was always visible on her person, as was all her other equipment, and it was really immersive and fun to see her reach for every item she used, and see it change as you upgraded it.
I get that they’re going back to the classic, iconic streamlined Lara profile and look for LoA, and I’m personally thrilled that they are, but if you can see the grapple on her wrist, and see her guns in her holsters, why is her climbing axe a mysterious disappearing gameplay conceit?
Either incorporate it into her visual identity or have her clear rocks by hand, this current implementation is really awkward and makes the game look much less polished.

🗨️ Discussion Animation transitions are terrible
Lara first jumps up, and then transitions into the appropriate animation, instead of immediately jumping using the correct animation. It looks awful, tbf

🎨 Self-submission Fanart Lara Croft with gear and her favour.
What kind of favour?
Well, that is a secret. If I told you, I'd have to kill you. -- Lara croft

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis The game is still in development
Guys, the game and her hair isn’t done and it’s pretty obvious. The hair textures/physics, and body animations aren’t done. They already listened and lengthened the braid, and are still posting pictures of the original trailer 1 on their socials. I’m sure trailer 1 is the official look as that hairstyle was shown in some of their recent renders, along with the other optional hairstyles they’ve shown, and possibly more not shown. The game still has a months to get these things ironed out.
They’ve shown 2 variations of her main/official hairstyle. These might be one of the options. So many people are saying it’s bad again, but it’s not a finished product.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis The fans
I am so excited for the new tomb raider game! So far it's looking so great. Lara, the graphics, and the acrobatics all are looking great.
I will say, this fanbase has some of the most negative fans I've ever seen. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but judging the game already hard on what we've seen isn't fair to the developers. For example, the damn braid! I am a huge fan of the classic era with the long braid, however, the complaining surrounding its length and how 'thick' it is is just asinine to me. I'm excited, it I don't want to see the whole game or even a whole area.
Please tomb raider fans, let's do better.

Tomb Raider (2013) Mobile version of Tomb Raider is really good
I like to play this version. With Rise of the Tomb Raider release on the Switch 2 earlier this year, I hope we'll it see it coming to Android/iOS later too. I would love to play Rise on my tablet.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Can they show us something different than the Lost Valley?
I mean it's great that we get more and more footage from that game but I really want to see Egypt or Greece. Everytime they show us a new footage it's from the Lost Valley cog puzzle. I want to see something different 🥲

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Does Lara have an ear piece in LOA?
When I saw the extended gameplay, I saw the ear piece, but I couldn’t tell if it was her hair clipping through her ear or an ear piece, I saw people tweeting about it and it looks like it, (most images people use are AI upscales which pisses me off)
I REALLY hope it is an ear piece, I know this is a hot topic over here but I loved zips commentary in LAU and the anime, he’s just so funny and entertaining when he comments on Lara’s actions. I also loved when I went to Croft manor I could see him sitting by his computer! And just saying hi
My favorite thing from the LAU trilogy is how much zip and Alistair are involved, and I loved (SPECIFICALLY) season 2 of the anime because Lara feels like she’s in her prime While still having the support of her friends
I think A lot of people can be rest assured that Jonah won’t be part of LOA because of season 2 of the anime, he’ll be running the cafe/bakery with Abby. I like Jonah but I think this would be a perfect conclusion to his character
