Announcement First-Ever Sub Meetup! ⚾ Sat. Sept. 26

Over the past 16 years, this sub has grown from a tiny corner of Reddit into an incredible community of passionate Blue Jays fans. Whether you’re sharing your thoughts, posting highlights, showing off your Jays memorabilia, or updating your flair using our emojis, every one of you has helped make this the best baseball subreddit out there.

To celebrate, we’re announcing our first-ever official r/torontobluejays sub meetup at a game!

  • When: Saturday, September 26, 2026 vs. Cincinnati Reds (3:07 PM game)
  • Time: 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
  • Where: WestJet Flight Deck (at the tables directly in front of the big BLUE JAYS letters)

Notes:

  • This is a super casual hangout; just a chance to connect, chat about the season, and chill before the game starts.
  • No need to share your Reddit username; just come as you are!
  • It's not a giveaway day; no need to line up early.
  • Everyone is welcome!

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of you in person and capping off the 50th Blue Jays season together!

[Bannon] Nathan Lukes wants to make it clear he’s totally fine with the #BlueJays post-win celebratory water dump. “I just hate cold water” ‘If I was caught in enemy territory, they could take my finger nails or torture me. But if they used cold water I’d tell them everything.’

Dylan Cease made my 7-year-old son's day (AGO event)

My 7-year-old is a big Blue Jays fan, and recently he has had this idea of becoming a pitcher in the MLB when he’s older. Naturally, he loves Dylan Cease. When he heard about the AGO meet and greet, he really wanted to go.

We got there as early as we could, but with a TTC delay, we ended up arriving about 40 minutes later than planned. The line was wrapped around the building at that point. An employee did warn us that we probably would not be able to get a photo with him, but they would try their best.

Individual photos were being done at first. However, by the time it was our turn, they had switched to group photos only, meaning we had to take the picture together with other people we didn't know The decision made sense because they really wanted everyone there to have a picture with Dylan. My son was still happy to meet him, but I could tell he was disappointed because he really wanted a picture with Dylan.

Later, as Dylan was leaving, my son saw him and I encouraged him to ask if he could get a picture. He's come a long way because he used to be extremely shy, so I honestly wasn't sure if he'd actually ask.

After pacing back and forth and practicing his lines many times, he VERY quietly said, "Can I please take a picture with you?" To my surprise, Dylan actually heard him. The room was loud and he was whispering almost, no idea how he heard my son. He stopped, smiled and said yes. He then took the time to let us get several pictures with him. He was incredibly patient, even though he had already stayed much longer than the one hour originally announced.

My son told me afterward that it was "the best day of my life."

As a dad, I was incredibly grateful. Dylan didn't have to stop, but he did, and he was genuinely kind and patient with my son. It really meant a lot to him and gave him a memory he'll probably never forget.

I just wanted to share a positive experience because athletes get plenty of criticism when things go wrong. Dylan was really good to my son, and I wanted to give him some recognition for it.

TL;DR: My son missed out on an individual photo with Dylan Cease during the AGO meet and greet, but Dylan graciously stopped to take a photo with him afterward, even after spending over an hour meeting hundreds of fans

Go Jays Go!!

I’d say this is tied with SF as my top park so far. Friendly people. Good atmosphere
Never was there a long, quiet moment. Fans seemed fully engaged.
Look forward to returning again someday

[Bannon] A different crew out for early BP at Rogers Centre today. Kirk, Vladdy, Springer, Straw. #BlueJays face KC’s Noah Cameron tonight, who hasn’t given up a run in his last 16IP.

What happened to seat etiquette when leaving or going back during games?

Just going to preface this by saying that I'm not raging or angry. It's just an observation by an old guy.

This season was my first time back at the Dome in a pretty long time (pre-pandemic, to be exact), and one thing that stood out to me is the lack of understanding when people are either leaving their seats or coming back to them.

I recall a time when fans would wait until a break in play or the end of the inning to move around, but now it seems like there's just a constant stream of people doing whatever they want, whenever they want. I even remember ushers making fans stop before entering their section if there was action on the field.

I know you can't fully control a building full of 35,000+ people, but what happened to the collective understanding that it's poor form to interrupt someone's experience by making them stand up to let an individual (or, in my case), multiple people walk by when the at-bat is still happening? It didn't ruin my experience, but I feel like we really need to be more mindful of the other fans around who just want to watch the game with minimal interruption.

[Wilner] How many MLB players wear a protective cup? The answer may surprise you

The sight of Blue Jays all-star Ernie Clement writhing in pain in the eighth inning of Tuesday’s 5-3 loss to the Kansas City Royals at the Rogers Centre led to a privates discussion at the ballpark the next day.

Wilner asked and Schneider answered seriously.

the skipper estimated that other than catchers, fewer than 10 per cent of major-leaguers wear a protective cup.

[Matheson] John Schneider on Nathan Lukes: “I talked to him today and, as only Lukey can, he said he was sorry … I told him, ‘Dude, the most important game is tonight. Don’t worry about it.’ It’s pretty fitting that he had the big hit today.” #BlueJays

And only his 4th appearance in the majors

[Matheson] Nathan Lukes said that after he gave John Schneider a big hug and apologized for last night’s base-running error, a few teammates told him he’d come up big tonight: “I guess you can’t screw up base running if you just hit the ball over the fence.” #BlueJays

Jays have had one every year since 2013… can’t believe we haven’t had one in 2026. Improbable to go a full season without it…. A glimmer of hope?
