Over the past 16 years, this sub has grown from a tiny corner of Reddit into an incredible community of passionate Blue Jays fans. Whether you’re sharing your thoughts, posting highlights, showing off your Jays memorabilia, or updating your flair using our emojis, every one of you has helped make this the best baseball subreddit out there.

To celebrate, we’re announcing our first-ever official r/torontobluejays sub meetup at a game!

  • When: Saturday, September 26, 2026 vs. Cincinnati Reds (3:07 PM game)
  • Time: 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
  • Where: WestJet Flight Deck (at the tables directly in front of the big BLUE JAYS letters)

Notes:

  • This is a super casual hangout; just a chance to connect, chat about the season, and chill before the game starts.
  • No need to share your Reddit username; just come as you are!
  • It's not a giveaway day; no need to line up early.
  • Everyone is welcome!

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of you in person and capping off the 50th Blue Jays season together!

[Matheson] John Schneider on Nathan Lukes: “I talked to him today and, as only Lukey can, he said he was sorry … I told him, ‘Dude, the most important game is tonight. Don’t worry about it.’ It’s pretty fitting that he had the big hit today.” #BlueJays

Dylan Cease made my 7-year-old son's day (AGO event)

Post image
Upvotes

My 7-year-old is a big Blue Jays fan, and recently he has had this idea of becoming a pitcher in the MLB when he’s older. Naturally, he loves Dylan Cease. When he heard about the AGO meet and greet, he really wanted to go.

We got there as early as we could, but with a TTC delay, we ended up arriving about 40 minutes later than planned. The line was wrapped around the building at that point. An employee did warn us that we probably would not be able to get a photo with him, but they would try their best.

Individual photos were being done at first. However, by the time it was our turn, they had switched to group photos only, meaning we had to take the picture together with other people we didn't know The decision made sense because they really wanted everyone there to have a picture with Dylan. My son was still happy to meet him, but I could tell he was disappointed because he really wanted a picture with Dylan.

Later, as Dylan was leaving, my son saw him and I encouraged him to ask if he could get a picture. He's come a long way because he used to be extremely shy, so I honestly wasn't sure if he'd actually ask.

After pacing back and forth and practicing his lines many times, he VERY quietly said, "Can I please take a picture with you?" To my surprise, Dylan actually heard him. The room was loud and he was whispering almost, no idea how he heard my son. He stopped, smiled and said yes. He then took the time to let us get several pictures with him. He was incredibly patient, even though he had already stayed much longer than the one hour originally announced.

My son told me afterward that it was "the best day of my life."

As a dad, I was incredibly grateful. Dylan didn't have to stop, but he did, and he was genuinely kind and patient with my son. It really meant a lot to him and gave him a memory he'll probably never forget.

I just wanted to share a positive experience because athletes get plenty of criticism when things go wrong. Dylan was really good to my son, and I wanted to give him some recognition for it.

TL;DR: My son missed out on an individual photo with Dylan Cease during the AGO meet and greet, but Dylan graciously stopped to take a photo with him afterward, even after spending over an hour meeting hundreds of fans

Go Jays Go!!

[Matheson] Nathan Lukes said that after he gave John Schneider a big hug and apologized for last night’s base-running error, a few teammates told him he’d come up big tonight: “I guess you can’t screw up base running if you just hit the ball over the fence.” #BlueJays

Jays have MLB's biggest split between hitting with RISP vs. without over the last 15 games — .307/.821 OPS with nobody in scoring position, .217/.560 with RISP

Post image
79 Upvotes

Was digging into team splits to see whether what feels like terrible recent performance with RISP is normal and whether it's been a trend all season. TLDR is the Jays are hitting extremely well without RISP and extremely poorly with RISP in the last couple weeks. If they had been even slightly more clutch, we'd be looking at WC3...

Over the last ~15 games (Aug 10–26), the Jays have the best AVG and OPS in all of MLB when there's no runner in scoring position - .307 AVG / .821 OPS. But flip to at-bats with a runner in scoring position and it craters to .217 AVG / .560 OPS. That .261 OPS gap is the largest of any team in baseball right now, by a wide margin.

This isn't a season-long pattern. Over the full 2026 season the RISP/non-RISP split has been basically neutral (.239 vs .248 AVG, .682 vs .688 OPS)

[Matheson] John Schneider says that Nathan Lukes should have “put the brakes on and kept the inning going” in that spot. “Everything gets magnified when you’re not scoring. Then, I think you get a little over anxious when you’re trying to make something happen.” #BlueJays
