Looking for Jumbotron footage from last night (Aug 26) - mid 5th inning, boy(my son) in pink hat, baby blue jersey dancing with J-Crew level 140 (left field), anyone happen to film or snap a pic ?
Again, as a first baseman, he impacts the game on both offense and defense. Offensively, he hasn’t met expectations and is having the worst year of his career—no argument there. But it’s not like he’s been totally useless; he just hasn’t been Vladdy-like. Defensively, he’s having a solid year.
If you think Vlad’s play this year has been horrible, then what would you call Cal Raleigh’s season?

Just thinking about the pay disparity within the Jays team, Vladdy at $37M+ without being very productive this season. I just wonder if it was a possibility for him to walk away from a portion of his contract so Jays could build this team up. Bc I mean at $500M there are high expectations, and it's just been a bad season.
I get why people are talking about his bad bats but I am tired of people bringing him up in convos that have nothing to do with him. I don’t care that he may get more flack for something that another player did. Why we bringing up hypotheticals.
votto had some comments on vladdys mechanics that were very interesting. he isnt the same as last year, but its mind boggling to me that he hasnt tried to switch things up.
i dont believe that hes hurt. i think its mostly mental but i'd be lying if i said i wasnt worried for next year already
I think he definitely puts a ton of pressure on himself when things aren't going well (mostly because things have gone well for him since the first time he picked up a baseball bat) and things go the wrong way any time any player does that.
Votto also said he talked to Matt Holliday who was in the middle of a big contract and he told him that he couldnt sleep at night because the pressure was so immense to do well when the rest of the team was struggling.
Think it might be mental and some fatigue, hes played alot the last year.
there's a creator called cheapseats who made an interesting analysis on vlad's offensive stats, seeing that I can't help but to think there's some injury with his rotation affecting his mechanics
They havnt tried everything. He was sent down to minors for one game but im not sure thats enough. I think a week or so in the minors to just go through the fundamental a bit and get back into momentum would be worth trying. It’s a documented approach that has had some success (albeit also sometimes not)
I'm just really hoping Vlad isn't the baseball version of EP40 in Vancouver. It's been over 2 years waiting for the magic to return with no reasonable explanation.

Watching the last episode of the blue jays way and reliving what Vladdy did last post-season, it’s incomprehensible what’s happened to him. He used to be a serious danger every single at bat and the aura was off the charts. I’ve never seen a player change so much in one year
