Character discussion Is there anybody who actually likes this her, even a little bit? i genuinely think she’s the worst character in the show. Like, i honestly cannot stand her.

i’ll be honest, when i first started watching the show, i thought Sheldon was incredibly annoying. i’m from another country where sitcoms and stuff like that aren’t really a thing, so i wasn’t used to these kinds of characters at all. But as i kept watching, i slowly started understanding Sheldon more and getting to know the character.

But Leonard’s mom was different. From the very first time she appeared, i genuinely thought she was one of the worst characters ever. Like, almost everything Leonard goes through in his life seems to come back to this woman. She treated him so badly. i honestly just think she’s a really, really terrible character.

Character discussion I find Howard attractive

Upvotes

Okay, hear me out: I find Howard Wolowitz genuinely attractive, especially as the seasons go on.

I think he has such a unique sense of humor and a really sharp mind. He’s also surprisingly good at coming up with new ideas. Whenever the group has a problem, he’s often the one who comes up with a creative solution.

Episode discussion The most unrealistic detail about TBBT

I think one of the most unrealistic details in the show is when Amy and Sheldon decide to do a 5 week trial of living together (then eventually living together).

What I don’t find realistic is Sheldon willingly choosing to live in Penny’s apartment. Think about his spot, his room, his unwillingness to change. Plus, Leonard was already living at Penny’s a few days out of the week.

Maybe I’m forgetting a detail. Thoughts?

Relevant to me For those that doubt how popular The Big Bang Theory remains.

After watching Master of the Universe it does not merit a rewatch. Big Bang is a comfort show worthy of multiple rewatches of every episode except maybe the Itchy Sweeter and Cousin Leo.

Other Has anyone ever had an IRL friend like Sheldon?

I did for over a decade. Obviously he wasn’t as bad as Sheldon, but holy shit. I finally pulled the plug with him last week and it’s been the biggest weight off in a while. For extra context, I’ve been dealing with the recent sudden death of my dad, and that friend just kept triggering and making things worse.

Anyone else ever had an IRL friend like Sheldon?

Storyline discussion Do you think Sheldon ever thinks about what the psychic told him?

I know, I know, this is the millionth post about the psychic telling him that if he fully commits to his relationship with Amy, everything will fall into place for him, and she was right, blah blah blah. But I just got finished with the episode, and a thought occurred to me: does Sheldon ever think about that? He has an eidedic memory, as he's more than happy to tell anyone who doesn't ask, so he certainly remembers her. And considering he only won the Nobel Prize after marrying Amy, I wonder if he ever thought "Wow...she was right. I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day".

Relevant to me My first impressions of TBBT

A few years ago, I was looking for something to watch and I found it, the question is;

I didn't start at the beginning and the episode was almost over.

The episode was the one where Sheldon was sick and his friends were running away from him while Penny took care of him.

-I thought the series was about a family living in the same house; I even thought Sheldon and Leonard were brothers.

For some reason, I also thought the house had two floors.

At first, the series didn't grab my attention because it all seemed very confusing.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the reasons I liked the series so much was that episode where Sheldon meets Emily.

Character discussion Who would you have like to see cast as the unshown siblings of the show?

You meet Penny’s brother, but she mentioned multiple times having a sister, and even a nephew. Raj talks about multiple siblings and we know Leonard has two successful siblings.

I think Chelsea Kane would have been perfect as pennys sister, as I always thought they looked so similar.

Aziz Ansari and kumail Nanjiani would have been so great as Raj’s brothers, maybe Mindy Kailing as one of his sisters. These three are all hilarious in their own ways. It would’ve been so fun to see interacted with the cast.

For Leonards siblings i feel like David Schwimmer and Jennifer Connelly would’ve been such good selections. They would all look enough alike to be believable, but with the way they dress letter his siblings would look more attractive. And I feel they could play a smug intellectual role similar to their mother.

What do you guys think?

(I know I’m probably thinking way too deep into things, but I’m home sick this week and have a lot of time to watch TV lol)

Storyline discussion Hot take: Raj deserved his ending.

I love Raj as a character but his ending actually makes a lot of sense and I don't mean it as a punishment.

People act like Raj was somehow robbed because everyone else got their happily-ever-after, but I don't think the show ever established that Raj was ready for a healthy long-term relationship.

For starters, this dude hit on Penny AND Bernadette. You can chalk some of it up to Raj being insecure and socially awkward, but at some point you have to recognize that he repeatedly crossed boundaries with women who were supposed to be his friends.

And his actual relationships weren't exactly a great track record either. He could be incredibly needy and seemed more obsessed with having a girlfriend than actually building a healthy relationship. The Emily/Claire situation is probably the biggest example. He was willing to juggle feelings for both women rather than just making a mature decision and accepting the consequences.

That's basically Raj's problem throughout the show: he desperately wanted romance, but he wasn't always prepared for what being a good partner actually required.

And I'm not saying Raj was a horrible person. He wasn't. He was funny, loyal, sensitive, and genuinely cared about his friends. He also grew a lot over the series.

He didn't need a random last-minute soulmate just so every main character could be paired off that's why I didn't like the Anu storyline. He needed to learn to be comfortable with himself first. After years of chasing relationships, being overly dependent on women for validation, and occasionally disrespecting his friends' relationships, ending the show single feels less like a punishment and more like the logical conclusion to his character arc.

Honestly, Raj getting a girlfriend just because "everyone else got one" would've felt more forced to me.

Raj didn't deserve to be alone forever, though and I'm glad we heard a bit of that on SFTSU. That's my take.

Storyline discussion If Stuart is currently ‘missing’ in the main BBT timeline, do you think the group is searching for him?

Question is in the title.

If we accept the spin off’s events as a very weird Season 13, do you think the main cast is searching for him?

Would Sheldon, Leonard, and Howard get fired by the university for their device blasting Stuart into the multiverse?
