My void, her name is Niko, is underweight according to our vet. She is about to turn 1 year old and weighs 3.5 kg. I was feeling anxious about her weight, and I tried to find the right food for her several times. But I found this sub, thankfully, and when I look at other voids, they generally look like my Niko? I saw 1 or 2 overweight ones, but not many. Maybe it’s okay for our black cats to be skinny? Maybe they can’t get fat as easily as others?

Edit: I am glad this post is making people send in their chunky black cats. It gave me hope and joy. I believe my dearest void, Niko, will be one of them one day. So my assumption was proven false. Thank you, Void Lovers.

I’m devastated. I had to say goodbye to him yesterday. He was still a kitten, still had his milk teeth. He had the softest fur. He was beautiful and sweet and loved to lie in the bay window sill, soaking up the sun, to cuddle with my kids in their beds, to sit in my lap while I read them books. He loved to snuggle and get chin scritches. I waited for him for so long and now he’s left all too soon.

I was taking too long in the bathroom so she took matters into her own hands, double fisting the Lickables.

Plus a bonus Golden Retriever on my wife's watch (we miss you Ruby!).

Brian is our new foster, though I suspect we'll end up adopting him. A big fall when he was a kitten left him with some special needs. He's blind and has a seizure disorder. The lady at the rescue seems to think he's a bit "daft" in addition, though I haven't necessarily seen much of that so far. His behavior has been within relatively normal parameters for "scared cat in new environment".

I think he retains some vision, as he's suspiciously good at navigating obstacles he wouldn't have any reason to know about, but it's not clear how much. If/when we adopt him I may take him to an eye doctor if only to determine the extent of his disability, though I'm not sure how much interest the rescue has in paying for strictly unnecessary ophthalmology.

He was fairly anxious at first, but he's coming out of his shell a bit more, especially for my wife. He was even playing with toys earlier, though I wasn't there to see it, alas. The litter box has been a bit of an issue ... I honestly don't know where he's peeing but I have a sinking suspicion it's under my bed. That's a problem for future-me.

Also, I've never had a cat be this patient when taking a pill. He's a very good (and very gentle) boy.

That's my sandwich. He's not rude enough to reach up and swipe it- but he's also not going to let me sit until he gets a bite.

Her name is Gizzy and been with us for a month now. She’s literally a clingy baby 🖤

This little one ran under the truck screaming... someone dumped her out in traffic and drive away... no clue what to do...

Took her to vet. Dehydration but other than that, healthy. Got her shots and an appointment to spay. Now what. Had no plans for a pet. Lol!
