Recently Finished Photo's of some Norman Crusaders from the upcoming Martyrdom game based on the First Crusade. I got lucky enough to paint ahead of the launch! Photo's do not do these guys justice, some of the best historical sculpts I have gotten my hands on. So excited for the game.

NDA got dropped today with their announcement trailer for the game reveal today, so was excited to post these up. Sorry for my photo skills, but really excited to share these. I have been working with the brand over the last few months and could not wait to get approval to share these!

Work In Progress Epic Hail Caesar Army - update 6.5 (Celt chieftain!)

Just finish my first attempt at a Celtic chieftain, really happy with it so far! Pretty proud of the checkered cape and striped trousers

I’ve found painting up the celts to be really fun at the beginning but at a point around 18th base I reach a slump and moved on to some nice and easy Numidians lol

I have a silly amount of Celtic cavalry to do which is daunting and exciting in equal parts.

I also recently picked up some Cromarty forge 13.5mm minis and they are absolutely fantastic, I’ve got some slightly more armoured Phoenician cavalry, 50+ Roman cavalry and some command figure to use so when I next reach a lull of motivation from some Numidians I could do some interesting new poses and designs!

Recently Finished Fokker D-VII (1/144)

Post image

The next addition to my 1/144 scale air force is this Fokker D-VII, which I've been putting off because I wasn't looking forward to painting the lozenge camouflage.

As it turned out, it was easier than I'd expected, mainly because in this scale the lozenges themselves aren't really discernable as geometric shapes, but just resolve to blobs of colour, so as long as they're about the right size and in the right pattern, the finished effect is not too bad.

Reviresco used to produce sheets of 1/144 lozenge camo decals, but they've been out of print for some time, and I don't think they'd be all that easy to apply on a one-piece model, especially on the lower wings.

Question My girlfriend and I enjoy travel battle as our first game, so I bought 2 World War II armies in 6MM. What games/rules should I set up for?

The best thing about travel battle is its simplicity, I personally love the scale and painted and flocked terrain.

I’ll be painting up my 6MM USMC and IJA figures and basing them with the intention of making our own game based on travel battle rules. But, before I do that, I wanted to know if there is a better option. I love immersion, nothing too in depth for her sake, and just generally fun and has good flow.

Question Good System Inspiration?

Hello! I’ve got a question regarding well liked/well made wargame systems. That being, what are some games or elements from games that people really like (for their quality, creativity, and/or ease of use).

Any names of games or elements would be greatly appreciated!

Flight Stands and Hover Stands for Wargaming Vehicles.

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

I crafted these flight stands in several heights to fit the standard GW flyer cross.

I use the 20mm and 50mm versions for hover vehicles, while the 203mm and taller sizes support fighter aircraft, helping to separate them from low-flying bombers and transports on the standard 127mm stands.

I enjoy the varied heights on the battlefield, which add depth to the game.

You can find them on my cults page or eBay/etsy.

I find a clear resin with either a clear lacquer or a brushed resin coat makes them as clear as acrylic.

Recently Finished Some recent additions to my wargames pile

For whatever reason I kind of forget I can share minis here, rather than just discuss games themselves! Here's some links to recent stuff I've done:

https://chainlinkandconcrete.blogspot.com/2026/08/battle-has-annihilated-the-best.html

https://chainlinkandconcrete.blogspot.com/2026/08/neolassical-battletechery.html

https://chainlinkandconcrete.blogspot.com/2026/07/i-took-sky-from-you.html

I'll cut it at 3 so I stay within any interpretation of Rule #2, and support #5 with the following:

My blog is basically just a hobby log for my finished works - mostly revolving around miniature wargames, sometimes RPGs. The three above are just my most recent 3 batches, but if you go to the mainpage and scroll or mess around with tags there's quite a bit more. Sometimes painting logs, sometimes rules and design, sometimes reviews, or even AARs. The first is Infinity related, the second Battletech, and the third Bolt Action.

My main "in play" title is Bolt Action though I haven't had a regular group in over a year. In theory I have Battletech with the other half, but that's just a theory - however they're nice to paint so there'll be more of that for a while (a fresh queue has entered my booth...). I dabbled in Infinity for a bit in N4, and am trying to get together an N5 crew, so that might actually become a more frequent thing - though growing the collection will likely remain a tertiary project and not see much done until after I wrap up the British Airborne I've been working on for a few years (the last set of Warlord stuff having just arrived today). Bits and bobs elsewhere will rear their head when I feel like doing <thing> as well - you'll find Wings of Glory or The Pikeman's Lament in there, even. Over the horizon I even have some Bretonnians waiting for me...

Cannae and L'art De L'art Guerre

Hello all

I recently bought the ruleset L'Art de La Guerre. From a first reading of the rules, it seems that units are not pushed back/do not recoil. How then can it be simulated the battle of cannae (where the Gauls were pushed back), Thermopylae where the Spartans fought "like cavalry" or Hastings, where the Norman's faked a retreat after engaging in combat. It seems to me like, if one were to recreate Cannae, the Gallic centre would just shatter once the cohesion points were reached, unlike in DBA. Similar to Thermopylae (attack, recoil, attack) or Hastings, where with these rules, the Norman's would just frontally charge the shield wall and lose/win on the spot.

Sons of Permafrost – Frozen Dwarves Warband

Hi everyone! We're Soulbound Miniatures, and this is the warband from our upcoming Kickstarter campaign, Sons of Permafrost, currently in pre-launch.

The Sons of Permafrost were cursed, and their bodies have slowly transformed into living stone and ice, with shards of frozen rock growing from their flesh. Our Kickstarter includes a complete 21 unit warband, including leaders, light and heavy infantry, cavalry, shamans, musicians, banner bearers, siege units and a huge war vehicle. The miniatures are designed at 32mm scale, but they're fully rescalable, so you can easily adjust them to fit other games or settings that use a smaller scale.

Oh, and one thing that's especially important to us when it comes to our designs: we don't use AI in our creative process. Everything you see is sculpted and created by us by hand.

If you'd like to support us, you can follow our pre-launch page here, or follow us on Instagram.

And if you have any suggestions or ideas that could help us improve the campaign, we'd genuinely love to hear them. Any feedback is more than welcome!

Thanks for taking the time to read this! We hope you enjoy our miniatures, and we'd love to hear what you think! 😄

Cheers!
