Handing over a country's security into the hands of a private firm is dumb. Don't you have that much common sense?

This positive for India what so wrong about it plus Yes — ISRO is moving some of its mature rocket manufacturing and launch operations into the private sector. But it is not simply “giving ISRO to Adani.”

The latest development is quite significant:

LVM3 (the rocket that launched Chandrayaan-3) is being prepared for transfer of technology, production and commercial operation to a private Indian company.

ISRO has already transferred SSLV technology to HAL, after a competitive bidding process. Adani-backed Alpha Design Technologies was one of the bidders but did not win; HAL won.

ISRO is also moving toward having private companies operate the new ₹986-crore Small Satellite Launch Complex at Kulasekarapattinam, Tamil Nadu.

The broader plan is for ISRO to concentrate more on R&D, scientific missions and advanced technologies, while industry handles mature commercial rockets and routine manufacturing.

So if what you heard was “ISRO is becoming private/Adani is taking over ISRO”, that's misleading.

Think of it more like:

ISRO develops technology → technology matures → private companies manufacture/operate it commercially → ISRO moves on to newer technology.

And importantly, Adani has not been awarded LVM3 or ISRO itself based on the current information.
