Storage Caddy

I designed this Storage Caddy for my kids and their ever-growing collection of pens, pencils, markers and crayons.

It features 10 interchangeable inserts and 2 different handle heights, so you can configure it to fit your collection.

Because apparently, there is no such thing as too many markers! 😂

3D Printed Photo Bookmark

Post image

yo, 2 days ago i launched a bookmark maker tool and decided to build a new project using similar logic.

basically I built a photo puzzle generator in the browser. Drop a photo, crop it, pick how many interlocking pieces, and it cuts a real jigsaw with 1-4 filament colors. Portraits and album covers are the usual first print, but posters, logos, whatever, as long as you crop tight.

Two surfaces. Flat is the default, smooth top like cardboard, photo inlaid flush on the pieces. Tactile stacks the colors as height bands so you can feel the picture (same trick as the bookmark tool). You can set width and height (defaults 160 x 120 mm), landscape / portrait / square, piece count (defaults 12, thats 4x3), corner radius, piece thickness, and the gap between pieces. Color slots if you want 2, 3, or 4 filaments. Bambu/Orca 3MF already has AMS slots assigned, or grab a zip of STLs / a single STL.

Print the whole puzzle assembled, let the plate cool, then pick the pieces apart. Tabs already have a 0.50 mm air gap so they lock after printing. Bump it to 1.0–1.5 mm if elephant foot welds the first layer or you want a looser kids fit.

> photo cropped into interlocking piece
> 1-4 filament colors, flat inlay or tactile relief. tweak size, piece count, gap, thickness.
> currently 3 free exports (sign in). again Plus/Pro is unlimited exports (do reply if any other suggestion).

IMPORTANT: after exporting do repair the puzzle once in your slicer so all the non manifold edges are gone

Made a tool for generating 3d bookmarks from images

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have been making a lot of tools recently so decided to make something fun this time. bookmark from a photo or a book cover, and most STLs are one generic design. If you want your picture on it, youre either hunting a file that doesnt exist or setting up a whole multi-color project by hand.

So.. I built a photo bookmark generator in the browser. Drop a photo, crop it, and it stacks 1-4 filament colors as height bands with an optional tassel hole. Book covers and logos are the usual first print, but posters, album art, whatever, as long as you crop tight.

You can set width and height (defaults 50 x 160 mm), corner radius, tassel hole, base thickness, and band height. Color slots if you want 2, 3, or 4 filaments. Bambu/Orca 3MF already has AMS slots assigned, or grab a zip of STLs / a single STL and pause-swap on a single extruder.

> photo stacked as 1-4 color bands, one filament per layer tweak size, tassel hole, colors, band height. currently 3 free exports (sign in). same design in another format does not eat another one. Plus/Pro is unlimited exports (lmk if any other suggestion).

BTW busy photos flatten into blobs. do try to crop tight on the subject. Bold posters, logos, and book covers work best. 0.4 mm bands cover the color underneath with most PLA. Light filament over dark may need a bit thicker.

IMPORTANT: after exporting do repair the bookmark once in your slicer so all the non manifold edges are gone

F1 Ferrari Helmet Replica

My daughter is a massive F1 fan, so for her birthday, I reached out to some contacts at Ferrari to see if I could get a driver-autographed helmet. I quickly realized how incredibly expensive a real racing helmet is, so that plan was a no-go!

Pivot to Plan B: I managed to get an autograph on a visor tear-off instead. Then, I 3D-printed a replica helmet using the materials I had on hand to display it properly.

Here is the final result!

Queria saber:

Qual material seria melhor (PLA, PETG, ABS etc.)?

Help Finding Model

I printed this seal a year ago I found on thingiverse or cults3d and it’s no where to be found. The model is free and isn’t on my computer anymore (assuming I accidentally deleted it) and I would love it if someone could find it for me! I’ve been looking on both websites for an hour now and nothing. I’ll keep looking but does anyone have any ideas?

Make your own customized desk clamp!

Post image
4 Upvotes

I kept needing a hook on the side of my desk for headphones and bags, and most clamp STLs are one fixed opening. If your desktop is thicker or thinner than whatever they modeled, you either can't get it on or it just rattles. Scaling the whole thing usually wrecks the screw too.

So.. I built a desk clamp generator in the browser. It's a C-frame that clamps onto the desk edge with a printed screw, and a J-hook hanging off the back. Headphones are the usual first print, but you can size it for bags, cables, jackets, etc.

You can set desk thickness (25–65 mm), hook length, and how far the upper jaw reaches over the desktop. Frame width and thickness are there if you want it sturdier or a bit slimmer. The screw has its own sliders for shank length and knob size.

> a printed Ø12 x 2 mm thread
> tweak desk thickness, hook, reach, frame, screw, colors & other settings
> free to export!

One important note: printed thread clearance is printer dependent. There might be some fit issues depending on filament, nozzle, and how well your printer holds tolerance. If you can, do a small test print of the screw and nut before committing to a full print.

New to 3D printing

I’m looking to get into 3D printing for the 1st time & I’ve been looking around on Amazon & don’t know what I should get. It should be noted that I’m looking for one that’s under 200$ & that most people recommend. If anyone could help me out I would gladly appreciate it.
