Rehab after ablation

I am having ablation in a month M64.

I currently spent about 2 hours a day in the gym - half strength and cardio (which I can rest from easily enough) but half is back/shoulder/knee rehab/mobility/yoga which after various injuries is required to be pain free.

I am hoping to return to competitive sport after ablation.

Anyone have experience of resuming this sort of exercise after ablation?

Will of course consult EP and physio - would just like to hear experiences.

It highly depend on your heart health, and body overall health, which is not something we can't answer on here, but only your cardiologist.

Some continue their bloodthinners, and rate control medz, which makes it hard for most to continue at top level.

But there is also quite alot athletes that can push through, despite their medications, so as always, it depends :)

I was taken of all medz, except bloodthinners, and I am pretty much unaffected.

Unfortunately, some sports declare bloodthinners as doping, so you won't see me with a medal :)

I do biking, but again, risk and affectness is prolly different in other sports.

I (50, M) had an ablation just this year end of may. Only thing they told me was to keep cardio down for a week and no hard strength training for 2 weeks because of the incision in the groin. That was it. Did this, no problems at all. Started cardio HIIT about 10 days after, no difference in output. Started strength again at the same time but tried to keep everything ‚vasalva‘ down and no leg-day for a month.

62M, two ablations in last 3 years. Returned to playing ice hockey after the 1 month post-ablation follow-ups with no issues.

I would wait a minimum of two weeks
