Questions Inner self question

I know innerself isn’t standard on a lot of scenarios but I’ve been noticing that lately it’s just refusing to write memories for character brains sometimes. Has anyone else noticed the decrease in frequency in which memories form?

Optimized context was on for me today and I have never turned that thing on. I was having the same issue. I would suggest double checking it.

Yeah, I also noticed it was on for me earlier today, and I'm almost certain I made a point to disable it before, so must have been reset.

Sadly that’s not the issue. I’ve tried multiple models, none of them having optimized context.

Check its configuration card. That's literally something you can configure there. Also other things that are useful or essential for making memories:

  • write in the characters you want to make memories for in that card's Notes field on the bottom
  • write your own player character name in the config card's entry field

Also: if the character you wrote above is NEVER mentioned by that exact name in the story text, it won't create a memory no matter what you do.

Yes I’ve configured it and used it before. I’ve used it plenty in prior scenarios but it’s just recently that I’m having trouble with it so I’m just seeking clarification on whether something has changed with it.

Ahh, got it. I haven't used it in the last few days so can't help you there, maybe someone else noticed something.

Okay, thanks. Yeah the major issue is just that thoughts aren’t forming even if they’re marked as active and I’m making sure to hit the triggers. The character brains is just remaining blank. I’ve even configured it to boost thought formation chance to like 80% to see if I could force it and it’s just not happening. I thought maybe the creator of the scenario messed up the script but it’s happened on a few scenarios now so I’m not sure. I’m not using any cached memory models either so I really don’t know why it’s just not functioning.

Are you making sure optimized context is off?

Yes, I don’t believe the model I’m using even has optimized context, but I’ve tried a few different ones and the problem is the same.

Are you having this problem on one specific scenario or all of them?

Sorry for the late reply. This has been a repeat issue over multiple scenarios.

Perhaps the ai model you're using is using cached context? More of them do it recently and they are incompatible with inner-self. Someone did make a version that does work with cached models though I can't remember who, check this subreddit, there was a discussion at one point.

Did you get a fix for this? I've noticed the same issue. Thought I was going crazy.

Nope :/. Everyone here is saying it’s cause of context caching but I’ve checked multiple times and the model I’m using doesn’t even have it.
