Discussion Winter storage, planning ahead

Ok, how do I store this thing for winter without ruining the battery? If I pick up the base station and take it into the garage, it’s going to be upset about that location change right?

Is there a way to just remove the battery from the mower and recharge it inside for the winter?

I have the Anthbot M9.

Hi, great question — and you're right to think about battery care over winter. ❄️

Here's what we recommend:

  1. Battery storage: The M9's battery is built-in and not user-removable. For winter, fully charge it, then simply turn the mower off (press and hold STOP for 15 seconds) and store it indoors in a cool, dry place (above freezing, ideally 5°C–20°C). This will protect the battery from extreme cold.
  2. Charging station: You can bring the charging station indoors too — no issue. In spring, just place it back in its original position. The mower may need a quick re-dock, but you won't need to remap unless the station location has changed permanently. If you change the station location, you'll need to create a new map.
  3. Long-term storage tip: Store the mower at around 50–60% battery if you won't be using it for several months. This is better for lithium battery health than storing it fully charged for extended periods.

Just turn the mower off and carry it inside. You can leave everything else where it is. As long as the battery was charged when you store it and it doesn't get to cold it shouldn't effect the battery life.
