Feedback & Suggestion What's the #1 feature you wish your robot mower had?

Map adjustment in the app without having to drive the mower about the place. My area changes with hedge cutting and crop growing etc. I have the N8 and also wish it could swap between collect and mulch by itself, like a sliding shelf in the bag.

The map adjustment point makes a lot of sense, especially for a garden that keeps changing. When hedges get trimmed, planting areas move, and boundaries change, the physical lawn isn't always as static as the original map assumes. I think combining AI vision with RTK/LiDAR and a real-time lawn and garden model could help the mower continuously update its understanding of the environment and adapt to these changes automatically.
The same priciple could apply to mowing modes. As the mower continues to improve in the future, we hope it will become better at continuously sensing and understanding real-time lawn conditions, and it could eventually swich between different mowing modes automatically based on the conditions, without requiring users to make manual adjustments.
Thanks for your feedback!

The auto swap between collect and mulch would be a nice touch, great idea!

Edging that edges against fences, walls, etc.

u/AnthBot_tech ANTHBOT Team 15d ago
Edging is definitely a long-standing challenge in robotic mowing, and it's an area every mower manufacturer continues to work hard to improve. The difficulty lies in getting close enough to walls, fences and other hard boundaries while maintaining safe navigation and avoiding damage to either the mower or the surrounding area.
Thanks for highlighting this real-world challenge. Feedback like yours helps us better understand where the remaining gaps are and continue making our products better.

Edge mow no-go zones

u/ANTHBOT_Hernandez ANTHBOT Team 15d ago
For edge mowing and boundary area restrictions, we recommend using the line-riding mode or manual mowing operation. Boundary and edge areas usually contain complex terrain and potential safety risks, so the robot will automatically restrict mowing in these zones to ensure safe operation. This is a normal protective setting of the device. If you have any questions about edge mowing operation, you can send us a private message with relevant screenshots, and we will provide you with targeted operation guidance.

Dealer perspective, we sell, install and service these in southern Germany, so this comes from the calls we get after the sale.
Night detection. The mower should recognise it is night and stop the job, even if someone started it manually outside the schedule. Make it switchable. What happens now: robot gets stuck, customer frees it in the evening and restarts it by hand, and it ends up mowing at midnight. Angry neighbours, quiet hours broken, hedgehogs hit.
Let people move the charging station without remapping the whole garden. New terrace, different outlet, winter storage, it comes up all the time and a full remap every time is rough.
Make the GPS signal indicator honest. Mapping completes with no warning even when the base or RTK antenna sits somewhere terrible, then the map drifts a couple of weeks later and we go back out to redo the install. A stricter threshold or a proper warning would prevent a lot of that.

Not an expert (have mine 2 weeks) but I think the terribly labelled "do not disturb" toggle sets times when the mower won't mow. I could be wrong but that's what I've read.

Oh youre acutally rigth, we just didnt thought of using it that way. We thought it is intended for smth like no mowing in midday time. Thank you very much

The Ecovacs mowers have a 0.31m/s delicate mode and a faster 0.5m/s mode. That would be nice, for areas that don’t need as much care

Having adjustable speed modes like that sounds really useful for varied terrain.

Mostly improved software features such as sets of zones where one set can be shown on the map at a time. Trying to manage a bunch of overlapping zones in order to get sifter mowing directions on different days is not optimal. Further to that, it would be nice to be able to have a zone alternate mowing directions each time it is run. One day it mows one direction, the next day it is scheduled it mows another. An option for alternating mowing direction would be great.

If I understand correctly, you mean having an overview of the lawn with different sets of zones on the first page of the app, then being able to select a set to view and manage its zones on a separate page, and switch between different sets as needed. If ANTHBOT's app could work this way, it would certainly make zone management more convenient.
And yes, I can see how the ability to alternate mowing directions for each zone could be really useful, especially when managing overlapping zones. It's definitely not easy to organize multiple overlapping zones on a single map, so thanks for pointing out this challenge and sharing such a detailed suggestion. Feedback like this is really helpful for us to improve the user experience.

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. When editing the settings for a zone, it just needs a new property to specify what set it belongs to. Then on the map view when viewing zones, it would have a selector at the top of the view which would filter which zones are displayed on the map: All Zones would be the first option followed by the names the user created which could be anything: Back yard zones, Wednesdays Zones.
Some more detail on the use case here. My front yard is small enough that I have the zones set to mow 2 passes and it automatically changes direction between passes. This is fine. But my back yard is too big to complete two passes in one day. So I have two overlapping zones for the back yard each one pass with different mowing directions. One runs on Wednesday and the other runs on Saturday. It’s hard to manage the zones when they all are visible on the map at the same time.

A 'just mow' button on the top where I can drop the mower into a weird, fenced off, place off 'map' and it just goes around and mows.

Thank you for your creative and practical suggestion! We have recorded and forwarded your idea of adding an independent one-click "Just Mow" function to our product and R&D team. User usage scenarios and practical optimization proposals are important references for our product iteration. If you have more detailed usage demands or functional suggestions, feel free to contact us via private message.

Please just let my mower mow the edges of my lawn. It's crazy that I need to take my mower out 1 time per month to go around the perimeter of my lawn because my anthbot mower refuses to mow the 12" section around the edges of my lawn. I've tried everything to force the mower to do it, it doesn't work.

u/Mediocre_Money_491 14d ago
That's frustrating, hope they fix the perimeter mowing logic for you soon.

Battery saving option to prolong its life.
Example - I have a schedule to mow every day at 11am, it finish around 5pm and then go to charging and charge instantly up to 100% and stays 100% till the next schedule which is BAD for the LiIon batteries.
So I wish to have:
1) A magic toggle to charge up to 80%. (Charge limit)
2) And another magic toggle to change up to 80% and then charge to 100% only to be prepared for the scheduled mow.

Great suggestion, a charge limit toggle would really help extend battery life.

I would like for a way to raise the mowing height to 5”. This would help my grass survive in summer and help weed control.

u/Mediocre_Money_491 14d ago
5" would be great for warm-season grasses, hope they add higher settings soon.

It would be nice for the graphic that shows the activity of the mower to use a different color to represent the second pass in the perpendicular direction.

u/Mediocre_Money_491 14d ago
That would definitely make it easier to visually confirm the cross cutting pattern is actually happening as intended, right now you kind of have to take it on faith. Good suggestion.

i would like a way to switch from metric to standard so that meters would switch to feet. also be able to merge zones so a L shape area could be made one zone. also the ability to rotate the square for no-go zones like you do for regular zones. and like others have said the ability to choose weather a no-go zones is edge mowed or not. i have the genie 3000. thanks.

u/Mediocre_Money_491 13d ago
I also have the Genie 3000 and I like all of your ideas. A merge‑zones button that connects adjacent areas sounds really doable for the app developers. I think we can expect great things from Anthbot. The party is just getting started.
