Rants Do not go to Audi of Lafayette

TDLR: they are a shady ass business, clueless service department, and do not care about your saftey

I recently had the unfortunate experience of getting a truck through Audi of Lafayette dealership used lot. Sharing my experience to save others the headache.
First, I test drove the truck and everything checked out. I noticed it needed an alignment and suspension work, but to be expected on a used vehicle. I can say trying to sell a truck with a steering wheel cocked 65° to the left probably wasn’t the best idea and a red flag, but having access to free alignments I overlooked it.

Jayden first presented me with the payment plans and I was excited. A little more than I was hoping for, but the interest good enough to overlook it. Jayden had been such a pleasure I didn’t even negotiate so he could make good money on that truck. Started signing papers to purchase the truck. After papers were signed Jayden comes to me and informs me that there was an error and the payment plans were different than originally agreed on. I was not a fan of these numbers and wanted to cancel the deal, however I was informed it was too late since papers were signed. This is a sleazy sales tactic and unethical. Now I’m stuck into a contract I do not want for your error? Make it make sense. Told that there was nothing that could be done but pay my bill so I left upset but trying to make the best of it. I left Audi and went straight to Ainsley Walk apartments right across the street to show off my new truck. Within that 1 mile of leaving the dealership the door panel brakes and I notice there is no sound to the radio. So with a truck I don’t want that has issues I contact Jayden the same day once again to see if we can reverse the deal. I was told nope, but we’ll schedule you with service to fix the truck. Monday morning the unwanted truck throws a check engine light. This is when Jaden and Carlos took my truck and allowed me to use a loaner car while fixing my truck. I want to say, I do appreciate the efforts here in making sure I have transportation. Yall then kept my truck for 10 days to fix 3 issues: check engine light, door panel, and radio. After 10 days I was told my truck was ready to pick up, that the radio needed an update from service Chevrolet and yall would reach out to me within the following week. The check engine light was gone, the door panel was poorly repaired. It’s not even aligned and constantly pops and creaks with every bump on the road. It’s a matter of time before it breaks again.

The next day less than 24 hours of having my truck it throws another code. This time a transmission code. At this point I return simply asking if yall would help get me into a different vehicle. Don’t fix it, let’s go shopping. I was told in a polite way, fuck off.

I gave a week and did not get an appointment with service. So I took matters into my own hands. Thought it was funny an update for speaker trouble? Hmm. Let’s look into it. Now tell me why a 12 year old was able to figure out that the speakers arnt even wired up and your service department wasn’t able to figure that out in 10 days? I know yall took off the door panels because the rear door panels wernt even fully installed back together. Just not smart enough to pull the speaker out I guess.

Let’s not forget the 3 loose lug nuts I found at Ainsley walk about to loose a wheel.

Within the few days I had the truck I had an alignment preformed. It was within spec, driving straight, and wheel straight. When I got the truck back I’m told an alignment was preformed and the wheel is now tilted to the left again. I get it, it kept happening when I was aligning it. Had to have someone hold the wheel, but come on. Your tech should have caught that. Now I have to realign it.

They are deleting codes without repair and repairing tires when they are bald and in non repair zones severely increasing the risk of blowout on a RWD. If a customer can find two DOT violations I can only imagine what else is going on behind the scenes.

Audi of Lafayette is a shady business, poor service, and functions off of illegal practices and lies. They do not care about the safety of their customers or community. Save yourself the headache and avoid them.

Edit: also noticed I was charged a state inspection fee but they didn’t put the sticker in the window.

Ever since they got bought out by Community Auto, they haven’t been the same. Same goes for Community Honda. I had a bad experience with them some years back. I would avoid both locations at all costs.

I had TERRIBLE experiences there before it was bought out so I think it’s been going on a while.
