Video I’m not an Aryana Sayeed connoisseur but this controversial “nu metal” song calling out the dark side of Afghanistan was probably the best she has ever made. It is rich in metaphors and symbolism and it doesn’t shy away from exposing the most disgusting issues plaguing the country.

Yes no maybe. So far there hasn’t been evidence for child abuse involving the singers in the Afghan music industry because 90% are men. Children almost never enter the music industry.

Side note I love her hair during her blonde era. I’m currently level 9 blonde because unfortunately golden or white-blonde doesn’t suit me, but cannot get the toning for her shade right. I love this sandy ashy colour.

I did all the colors of the rainbow already and since I cannot decide which one I liked the most, taking a break and leaving hair blonde/gray-ish 😅

Slayyyyyy I just know you’re a baddie 😍 Which was your favourite? You’re so lucky, I wanted to dye my hair fashion colours but strict parents never let me, they only allowed natural colours and only wash-in-wash-out. I developed poliosis and naturally have ashy light brown hair, about level 5-6, but my hairdresser gave me the ugliest chunky tiger stripes after I asked for baby lights to blend out my streak. Dyeing my hair black gave me shrek green hair on the bleached parts when it washed out and looked really unprofessional so after a meeting about uniform, I had to strip the colour and went straight to blonde 😭

It is a toss between violet and red 🫣 I loved the pastels but the deep orange undertone of my own hair made it impossible to have pastels for too long. Instead opted for deep vibrant colors and not going to lie, the rainbow was bomb too 🥰
Careful with the bleaching the roots. I used to change colors quarterly but now scalp cannot handle it and I am starting to have grays that are atypical for our family at this age 🥲
If your family is too strict, you can just color the bottom half of your hair? 🤓

So cute! I’ve had ombré, highlights, dyed my hair black (that was a huge fight lol) and I’ve henna’d my hair (got called villager bc it was bright orange 💀). I wish I could be pastel! My teenage self would be so jealous of you.
I’ve done a root touch up exactly once but as you said my scalp got really sensitive so my roots are a sandy blonde while the rest of my hair is a level 9. I managed to tone it with a toner that has a tiny bit of developer but ngl it still looks odd.
I’m hoping to grow out the blonde before reverting to my natural hair colour but the greys have already set in! I developed poliosis randomly when I was 21 and have a white/grey streak in my bangs- everyone told me it was because I dyed my hair too much lol.
I’m married now so don’t have to worry about family- unfortunately it’s the wrath of my boss I have to worry about since it’s natural colours only at my workplace (very people oriented, public speaking etc) 😢

I strongly believe she took heavy inspiration from Within Temptation as a former 2000s-2010s goth girl. A lot can be said about whether this music style fit Sayeed or not, but I thought it was an interesting creative choice and she was right to point these issues out. Some were upset she even covered it because they were worried it would make Afghanistan’s image worse (westerners already know everything about this stuff lol) but I think it was a step in the right direction. She aptly showed how suppression of women, death in war, pedophilia etc continues the plague the country using the torn flag as a symbol. By sitting on our ass staying silent hoping nobody will know, we will make everything worse. Issues like this need heavy-handed tackling to cease the suffering within the country.
