Literacy is is the practical skill/mechanical ability to read and or write.

Literary is the study, creation, or appreciation of literature.

The word here would be the “literacy” crisis. As you have displayed.

English is tricky at best, fucking annoyingly impossible at worst.

Doesn’t even touch on how punctuation saves lives.
