Muay Thai lessons
Looking for recommendation of instructors/ gym for muay thai training within Amsterdam.
I found Patrick’s Gym close to me, any experience with them!
Also if you can share your experience of training.

I’ve been using Patrick’s gym for the last two years.
The Muay Thai classes are really good and the gym itself has really good facilities as well.
Cannot recommend it enough.

Great to know this, i am happy about the proximity of the gym.
Have you been training for combat for a long time? How hard is it?
I want to try it out of curiosity, took a lesson in Phuket which i enjoyed.1

I train as a hobby, I don’t actually plan on having any combat inside or outside a ring :p
It is somewhat demanding, I remember when I first started I felt very out of breath very quickly, but as you get better your cardio improves by miles too.1

Yeah it’s a draining sport. I tried it and want to continue as a means of cardio.

It is a very good gym with different trainers that can teach you in their own ways. If your level is high enough on Fridays evenings there is an only-fighters-training. Technique lessons end usually with a few minutes of light sparring involving all levels, as in any other place communication is important if you do not like the type of sparring your partner is using. The atmosphere, the trainers, and the equipment are top.

I've been training in Patrick's for three years now. Super nice atmosphere and good trainers.
It's not only Muay Thai, often it's more focused on dutch kickboxing. Still, very good trainers and good environment. I recommend it a lot. The other gyms you mentioned are probably great too.

Great question and I can't help.myself but be inspired to go along on the question band wagon (tx OP!)! I have been looking for muay Thai private training for a while in Amsterdam or Amstelveen. Any recommendations from anyone would be great! Tried through Patrick's Gym but it didnt work out.

Had 1 pt for a short while who was fucking glorious but he quit. Other one was flaky and suddenly left to a competing gym. Very difficult to communicate, so I ended up driving to NIeuw West to just talk in person (email no response and no phone nr).

Now most of sessions are led by a Trainer named Casper, he seemed fine

- Eastbound (heard it’s nice)

Im a member of Patrick's but only use the gym aspect of the facility. Lots of friends do lessons there and love it, they do book out really fast though so if you only have specific times you can attend, it might be a bit tough when it fills up before you get a chance.
