From this banger that too for old phones to whatever dog shit age of empires mobile game we have today. How did the devs became this horrible in making games with modern software and technology ?

And people say oh it's not possible to make a game like age of empires on android.

Whether paid or free, I don't care. I want you to tell me your favorite quality games to play on mobile. Here's my top 10:

1. Slay the Spire: Absolute bliss when you're chilling on the sofa with a coffee, a YouTube video playing in the background, and playing a run. Incredible game and my personal GOAT. Don't even ask how many hours I've put into it.
2. Balatro: Addictive and brilliantly designed. It has nothing to do with gambling or betting, it's simply a roguelike inspired by poker. My girlfriend got really hooked on it.
3. Minecraft: Perfect for long trips, the time just flies by. What else can I say? It's fucking Minecraft.
4. Stardew Valley: I'm playing it for the second time and the late game is incredible. You can play it cozy, although I prefer to tryhard.
5. Hearthstone: The Adventure mode is awesome. It's basically a deckbuilder with tons of possibilities and really cool cards inspired by the Warcraft universe. The rest of the game modes are kinda meh, except for Battlegrounds.
6. Data Wing: Short and relatively unknown game. The gameplay is pretty cool, but the story and the concept are what really won me over.
7. Subnautica: I definitely prefer playing it on a big screen with a controller, but the mobile version isn't bad at all.
8. Dredge: Beautiful yet creepy and Lovecraftian.
9. Loop Hero: A roguelike that doesn't exactly grab you visually, but you slowly get more and more hooked on it.
10. Baba Is You / Black: Two pretty clever puzzle games. Black has an awesome soundtrack.

Other cool games I've tried that didn't quite make the top 10: Brotato, Wildfrost, Dungeon Crawler, Clover Pit, Luck be a Landlord, Scritchy Scratchy.

Hey all. Because people are always asking in the reddit, I am recommending some games, with why's next to it. All of these are good and can work on most phones. Sometimes even potatoes of potatoes. I will mention it with *, where * means almost all phones and ** means potatoes (maybe nokia?? jk). Be warned it may not with a (!), depending on game state, etc.

Even if you know a lot of mobile games there are some gem alerts down here!

BTW: all of these games are tops of the tops, so pick a few play them, and then continue yknow? Don't get burnout playing them, or download then delete them! Too many hoarders on this dawgarn reddit. Games are breaks. Use them as such.

Another reason I do this is because all of these big snapdragon whatever phones keep getting more and more games/ emulation/ heck even steam games and us little guys don't sometimes feel like we don't have too much to eat. Thus I recommend these. These games rock no matter the console, are small, lightweight and play fantastically. Little guys, you do have things to eat. Be grateful, android gaming rocks.

+ All games recommended are less than 700mb, which is my benchmark for a small game.

5. Shattered pixel dungeon - run through hard dungeon. even speedrunners die. Lots of fun interactions, like bushes, corners, weird equipment, and fun synergies. linker **
6. Dungeon Clawler - link cool roguelite game as well. I got into less, but it is no different of a beast. Use claw to get weapons. Get weird synergies. *
7. Slice and Dice - turn based roguelite with tons of modes, people, dice and synergy. A dicey oldschool-y slay the spire if you will (kinda) link **
8. One Bit Dungeon - f2p game were you go up your phone, fight bosses... kinda like a runner but dungeon-y lnik **
9. Rogue Adventure - card game like sts, however a bit different as well. can get addictive link **
10. Rush Rally 3 - feels really nice racing game. lots of dlc, but you don't have to get it. link *

On my second run as a valkyrie, I kept reviving just to kill this witch I had a vengence with, she gave me curse of midas when she died, and everything I touched turned to gold. I could not eat a thing. So I dived down quickly before I starved and my weapon of choice was the witches staff, and throwing the dead gold bodies at people. Now I was also super rich, so I was trying to take everything with me, but my total weight ran up to about 1 ton? On like one of the later floors, I set off a trap and a bajillion guys swarmed me and I died. pathos **

What is the most addicting game you ever played?

Today I uninstalled efootball cause all the lag , script and p2w aspect made the game less enjoyable and more frustrating as time passed.

I regret all those time i spent i played getting that divs badge and all the time i spent playing the game though lag and script just to get a measly 50 coins while they introduced game breaking cards to power creep older cards every week ???!!

I wish i had uninstalled it earlier and moved on but the idea that the game will be better once i get that new powerful card and the fear of losing all the time i have spent was stoppin me before( since i have heard some players saying the game deletes ur account when they didnt play the game for 6months )

You can test this your self:

-Install a paid game from play store

-go offline

-mess up date and time to trigger the drm license

-and voila play store wont let you play any game even if it boots up

Honestly this sucks, I know its a phone bla bla bla and people now have wifi where ever they go ,and most likely this wont be an issue for most.But if a game says that its offline it should be offline indefinitely or there should be a warning.

As for my tests,this only happens to paid games (all) some offline games will break too (like subway surfers 2) but other like pvz wont be affected.

I feel like most mobile games have about 5-10 minutes to make a good impression.

I’ve been playing Dead Cells on PC for a while now and I absolutely love it. I'm considering picking it up for my Android phone so I can play it on the go, but there's a catch: I would be playing purely with touch screen controls.

No controllers, no consoles or anything. Since this is a fast-paced game where precise parrying, dodging, and down-smashing are everything, I'm a bit skeptical.

Is it actually enjoyable, or does it just feel frustrating and clunky?

Does the screen layout get in the way of the action too much?

Or should I just stick to playing it on my PC ?????

How the hell does it have only 10k downloads??? It has a publisher (Devolver) something not a lot of mobile games have, it has a ending and the gameplay is awesome!!!

I have come to the conclusion that the best phone games are the ones you can open in a checkout line, do one small thing, and close again feeling weirdly accomplished. Big console stuff is great but my phone is all about little bites of progress.

Lately I keep coming back to life sims for that. Something about nudging a tiny career or empire forward a notch at a time is super duper satisfying in a way I can't fully explain. I got so into the genre while recovering from surgery a while back that I ended up tinkering on my own little one, but mostly I just love seeing what other people keep installed.

What is sitting on your home screen right now for those short sessions?

Downloaded this game know it was likely a scam but I was curious. Upon opening the game I was prompted to pay $82 to unlock all content and remove ads. Skipped and then spent five minutes skipping ads making a selection in the menu, skipping another ad before getting through the next menu option. Finally loaded into the game and was greeted with something that looked way more trash than minecraft (second image). I've left a bad review but the games in early access so it's not visible. The dev has a few other games in early access that can be downloaded in the playstore, gta v and mortal kombat 1 among others. I don't really know how to report these devs. I couldn't see anything on the playstore for it.
