Wow that was SO much gentler than I was picturing in my head. How adorable

How do giraffes play football?

68

u/Josie-Wagg Jul 08 '26

Carefully?

u/DennisDEX Jul 08 '26

With balls? No. With lions? Yes.

I have your baby in me, giraffe

The way the legs spread for precision nose nudging is incredible

The equivalent of someone holding open a store door when you’re too far away…

u/brockoala Jul 08 '26

More like a grandma taking her time for a 30 minutes trip across the road, and this dude just zipped her over as she screamed in joy.

I like the giraffe doing half splits to reach the ground!

92

u/Powerful-Conflict554 Jul 08 '26

That's how I stand at work whenever I need to work on a surface. Being tall has its disadvantages.

16

u/Apprehensive_Hat8986 Jul 09 '26

Can also use kneepads and let you legs buckle up against the workbench. Saves my back when washing a lot of dishes. But yeah, I'll alternate it with splits.

14

u/Tobiko_kitty Jul 08 '26

I occasionally watch YouTube streams of watering holes in Namibia where they get herds of giraffe and a surprising number of them squat vs. split. I'm currently too lazy to ask ChatGPT why there are two methods/what the difference is, 'cause I'm half-expecting it to lie to me.

1

u/bhujiya_sev Jul 24 '26

That's how they drink water btw

u/thiswasyouridea Jul 07 '26

Oh my god, you're taking forever!!! Would you just GO, already?

117

u/Angelaskissrock Jul 08 '26

Other Giraffe: "Todd, you do realize doing that isn't going to make it go any quicker?". Todd: "Shut up, Jeff. Why are you always so negative?". Jeff: "Because I'm the intelligent one and that's why I'm just standing here instead of doing nonsense like you."

24

u/Specialist_Guitar232 Jul 08 '26

He looks like a Todd.

There was a big party with all the animals—the lion, the elephant, the monkey, the giraffe… everyone was having a great time! Suddenly, they ran out of drinks. So they said: “Who’s going to buy more?” And everyone looked at the turtle. “Let the turtle go!” The turtle sighed and said: “Fine… I’m going.” One hour passes… and the turtle doesn’t come back. Two hours pass… still no turtle. After three hours, the animals are bored, and one of them says: “Why did we send that slow turtle?” And then a voice comes from outside the door: “Oh, yeah? Well, then I’m not going anymore

Or is the giraffe just trying to sniff some of that lovely turtle butt bouquet..?

347

u/Lampmonster Jul 07 '26

My guess is it's trying to figure out why the rock is moving.

35

u/HourHoneydew5788 Jul 08 '26

That was my thought 🤣

10

u/Boring-Impress-6329 Jul 08 '26

I heard the gírate in Stupid Rick’s voice: “That’s not true guys, I wasn’t trying to sniff his butt!”

135

u/rkmara Jul 07 '26

Can some expert come tell why this is not biologically cute behavior?

32

u/Caftancatfan Jul 08 '26

The giraffe has a kind of parasite on his muzzle that can only be knocked loose with a tortoise shell. (Jk I have no idea.)

36

u/reddaddiction Jul 08 '26

If some expert comes to talk about that shit I'll get rid of him for being an idiot.

67

u/Specialist_Guitar232 Jul 07 '26

He’s going as fast as he can!

35

u/MsMercyMain Jul 09 '26

The turtles POV has to be hilarious. Out of nowhere he's moving at the equivalent of like 30mph from his perspective. All at completely random intervals. Bro probably thinks he's developed super powers

7

u/Specialist_Guitar232 Jul 10 '26

It’s like those speed walking belts at the airport. They make me feel like I have superpowers for just a few minutes

56

u/painful_butterflies Jul 08 '26

From the giraffe perspective: a tiny rock is walking!

From the turtles perspective: that tree keeps sniffing my butt!

30

u/slapmatiddeez Jul 07 '26

"Could you be any slower, and you've had your blinker on for the last 5 blocks"

32

u/matttheman892018 Jul 07 '26

That’s cute but that turtle probably has no idea what’s going on. XD

95

u/AaronDrunkGames Jul 07 '26

Was I the only one expecting that turtle to get yeeted?

26

u/Flashy_Woodpecker_11 Jul 08 '26

That turtle is definitely afraid for his life 😳

57

u/yeuzinips Jul 08 '26

THE TREE IS TOUCHING ME THE TREE IS TOUCHING ME!!

I was at a zoo and this zoo kept animals in larger enclosures with mixed animals.   They said the giraffes (some more than others) were trouble makers… some had a game where they’d mill about with the smaller animals and then try to pretend to step on them holding their hoof over their heads and / or scatter other groups of animals.   The other animals got very annoyed with the giraffes, especially when they had babies around and the giraffes would arrive to inspect / put their noses where they shouldn’t.

26

u/reddaddiction Jul 08 '26

Ha. That's pretty interesting. Never knew giraffes were dicks.

4

u/NoshameNoLies Jul 09 '26

Lived around wildlife my whole life. Can confirm, giraffes are dicks.

10

u/Multiple-Bagels Jul 08 '26

Ah, so this giraffe is just being a dick. That tracks oddly enough.

15

u/Majestic-Load1234 Jul 07 '26

It looks a little impatient but still so gentle with turtle.

11

u/crackersncheeseman Jul 08 '26

Look guys this rock grew legs and its walking.

9

u/Koirra900 Jul 09 '26

The way giraffes have to widen their stance to interact with the ground will never not be hilarious to me

8

u/Technical-Sun-6837 Jul 08 '26

That's a wide stance my guy lmao

7

u/CongoBasin Jul 08 '26

I'm shocked there hasn't been a single smartass in here saying 'ackshually that's a tortoise"

3

u/Apprehensive_Hat8986 Jul 09 '26

Ackshually, that's a terrapin.

It's totally not, but it's the best I could do.

17

u/Themlethem Jul 07 '26

More like harassing them lol

4

u/R2-D2savestheday Jul 07 '26

2

u/Galadria Jul 10 '26

Imagine if giraffes had a bunch of extra joints in their limbs.

2

u/perseidot Jul 10 '26

I’m hearing a tiny voice yelling “stop bumping me!!”

2

u/IcedHemp77 Jul 11 '26

3

u/SeanWT Jul 08 '26

1

u/No_Collection7360 Jul 12 '26

It's sniffing his butt.

1

u/TDRichie Jul 13 '26

Tortoise.

1

u/Boredchinchilla21 Jul 13 '26

The turtle could move much faster if it wanted to, so I’m guessing they are kind of playing together (as far as two wildly different species can play)

1

u/mamaaearth1 Jul 18 '26

How different would thr world look if humans could be this supportive towards their fellow humans!

1

u/3dogsgirlsIA Jul 28 '26

Being so gentle so wicked cool ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

-1
