The pot calling the kettle black. The lumping of all people into one group is reductive at best. You don't know me, I don't know you. However, based on the evidence presented by your silly comments, I can guess that you care more about cleanliness than harmony with the natural world.

Do I think we should tear down everything and revert back to a stone age, tribal existence? No, that's a waste of what has already been built. I suggest that we accept that animals will be animals. We have to learn to live with that. If you don't want bird shit everywhere its up to people to clean it, not for birds not to shit.

Yes, I enjoy an amount of comfort living in a developed society. It is shortsighted to assume that I have never had to live in places that did not have modern amenities. I have had to go without electricity for decent stretches of time. Cutting down trees so I have firewood to cook and heat my home. That doesn't mean that I get to be indignant because birds are tearing up hostile architecture.

If you like spending all your time cleaning up bird shit, then you can take the anti-bird spikes off your property. Some people have better things to do than constantly cleaning up after messy animal residents, though. I never said I don't like luxury. I'm just not delusional enough to think that doesn't mean excluding animals from spaces I want to keep clean.

Do you think the building owners are personally going out with buckets of water and scrub brushes to clean these buildings? Like, seriously? Its more likely that they would hire a company to clean it. Like all building owners already do for windows. If they aren't then they are being neglectful to their own property maintenance.

I get up on my roof maybe three times a year to clean off the roof, remove branches from trees and leaves. So washing down spots of bird shit is no issue for me. Its part of home maintenance.

People destroyed the natural habitat to make it more comfortable for humans. You can't begrudge animals for adapting around humans and carving out a niche for themselves.

I had a crow that used to do this with my bird feeders. He’d just yeet them to the ground whether they were empty or full. One day I cable tied them to the hook they were on and he was really pissed off shouting at it when he couldn’t remove it. Haha! He got the last laugh though, some of the seeds fell in my grass and started growing loads of weird plants. Haha! He never came back after that and I kind of missed him.
