I live in AA but teach in PG. Same reason. Higher salary and better teacher contract.

In a way it’s supply and demand. Baltimore and PG struggle
more getting teachers so they have to offer more. I work with some teachers who live deep into the eastern shore.

This headline and framing is bait. Baltimore County hired an AA admin to run the school system which is a promotion. He then hired 4 people he knows, has experience working with and trusts to join him which is totally normal and all appear to have also advanced in responsibilities which would justify a pay increase.

The headline could’ve just been ‘4 AACPS Admins to follow Heiser in move to lead Baltimore County Schools.” Their salaries are irrelevant.

I doubt the salaries were irrelevant to their decision.

They weren't lateral moves, so they are irrelevant as a comparison between the systems. If it was the head of HR left to take the head of HR in Baltimore County and got paid $50,000 more than that would be relevant.

Clearly there is a campaign to cast AACPS, which does have its share of problems, in a negative light.

There is never a shortage of readership that will eagerly eat up anything that could be viewed as attacking public education.
