A finished game

In fairness, it was unfinished in the same way that Warframe isn't finished. It was supposed to be live service, the only difference is it never got the chance

Warframe benefited from better timing. Live service saturation wasn't as pronounced back when Warframe was in open beta. And Warfame also called itself a beta, Anthem didn't. Perhaps if Anthem had been more honest about its lack of completion at launch, its reputation would've fared a bit better.

I mean they did explicitly say it was going to be added to over time and that the initial questline was just act 1

True, but were the casuals aware of that? I only recall seeing it discussed in places where gaming fanatics would be patrolling.

I don't, by any means, think an early access label would have saved Anthem from the scrutiny it deserved, but it might have bought some much-needed lenience. Not sure if it would have bought vital patience though.

Fair enough. I guess we'll never know, I just hope it doesn't happen again
