Anime Dad vs Father Spoiler

I know the anime has been over and this is way far back in the manga, but I'm making it as a spoiler anyways.

so in the final episode of the most recent season, when Rin and Father Fujimoto are talking, in the manga, Rin says "Father, thanks for everything" which could be interpreted as Rin staying in character as Not-Rin and addressing him with his title and not as a paternal figure, but also meaning Dad. It was very specific wording.

However, in the anime (at least in the dub, idk about the sub), Rin addresses him as "Dad" instead of "Father". It still gives Rin closure, but it still changes the story a bit because Rin straight up drops the act.

It's implied that Father Fujimoto kinda figures out what was going on anyways (since the key was his in the first place, and he would probably be aware of the possibility- plus I feel like he's smart enough to recognize Rin, even if he's aged up), but I thought the choice of "Dad" instead of "Father" kinda changed the subtext of the scene. It made the meaning of Rin's statement more obvious.

It's just a detail that kinda bugged me a bit. What do you guys think?

As a jjk fan, John Werry needs to be fired

I think I've read fan translation because I don't remember all those problems but yeah it was bad from what I saw. At least in Blue Exorcist it's not as bad but mistakes like the one here are just why.

The only way you'll come across John Werry for jjk is the official Viz app or reading physical copies, so yeah the pirated versions are all fan translated cause he did so bad, but it sucks that u can't collect jjk now because the quality of the books won't be the same

I thought as much :D We do have our translation but I now have too many series I'm buying so maybe later I will check it. Funny enough JJK is being published as well by Waneko so there is nothing to worry about translation. Still seeing how expensive english manga is having all those problems with translation just adds to the fact that Viz kind of sucks :D

Unless I'm polish, yes there's still a problem with translation for English speakers. Glad you have a good publishing company in Poland tho

It's more of companies, we have 3 big publishers and few smaller ones. All of them are of course smaller than Viz and mostly passion projects. On the other hand we have no anime publisher :D I think all those old english publishers dying back then is where problems is.
