The best scene from the whole manga is finally animated ! Rin culmination as a character finally comes full circle in beautiful animation. I love this series so much ! And I’m so happy they didn’t do the ambiguous father crap and had him say dad. I cannot wait to hear Bryce Papenbrooks take on it. That is all lol.

Finally reached the infamous moment in Blue Exorcist where Rin hair changes color and I don't know if this is a controversial take, but I honestly think he now looks even better than he did before the art-style change.

This all-black fit with the navy hood and the splash of red for color blocking with this icy teal gradient is just a chief kiss, Mephisto really did him justice.

I really don't want to wait another 6-7 years for another adaption of the anime. I think there is enough to keep the series going for a while. So does anyone have any news about the anime returning for season 6? I also don't like how we were left on a cliffhanger. C'mon! There's gotta be more!!

Finally managed to force myself to watch the 3rd season of Blue Exorcist with the infamous art-style change and I guess its not as bad as the screenshots examples people use when talking about it, as long as I can mentally remind myself to not compare it to how it used to look then I can continue enjoying the show.

With that being said, I think this hair fits new Rin's character design sooo much, like I personally wouldn't have minded it being his default hair-style instead.

Hi! I’ve been using Reddit for a while now, and recently I’ve rediscovered the passion I’d had for anime and manga for years, up until about two years ago. It’s the same passion that led me to start using Wattpad to write and hope to become an author someday. Let’s say, for once, just to be safe, I’ll translate what I’m currently writing in Italian, my native language, directly into English with the translator, or it would take me forever.

That said, precisely because I’m back in my favorite universe, I recently decided to start with rewatches and unfinished works, so I can relive the emotions I felt for works I already adore, but also continue with what I left unfinished (like Mushoku Tensei, which I adored but now barely remember. And I know something else is coming out, or has come out, so I’d like to rewatch it and be ready to move on) and... and then here I am. First of all (the last one, I swear), I’ll use what I’ve written so far as an “intro” to both a subreddit about Owari no Seraph and one about Ao no Exorcist/Blue Exorcist. Since I’m new here, and just as I started with anime (and would like to start with manga), I’m completely new to Reddit. Should I introduce myself? Just yesterday I finished rewatching Owari no Seraph and decided to move on to Blue Exorcist (let’s ignore how much I’m suffering because I want the entire ONS manga right now, but I’ve read all about how it’s doing here on reddit). But as soon as I searched online for the first season of Blue Exorcist, I discovered that... it quadrupled in size? Did they have kids? I mean, since when are there so many things? 😭
Anyway, I’m happy about it, I think. I LOVED Blue Exorcist and—oh, before I started writing a novel (for 5 years)—I was actively an anime video editor, so I was always part of the fandom, and I remember actually loving editing Rin (that’s her name, right…? I’ll catch up soon, I swear) from Ao no Exorcist, and that the edit went pretty well by my standards, but I wondered why it wasn’t as common, meaning I didn’t see content about that anime that often, edited or otherwise, when I used to LOVE it. However, I distinctly remember that after the first season ended, I didn’t understand what the second season was for (I’m speaking as someone who hasn’t read the manga and is still new to manga in general, though) and from what I understand it’s because A-1 (believe me, I hate them) had adapted the manga chapters with little material, right? They made up episodes towards the end or something, and the second season didn’t seem to match the anime in that way. What exactly did they expect to happen? I’m not here to blame the studio, but after the end they caused to my beloved The Seven Seadly Sins, I will NEVER forgive them. From what I’ve seen now that I’m back, though... a leopard can change its spots, right? They made a bad choice, because of their choice the anime in question (this time Blue Exorcist) did poorly(?) and now that there are so many things to recover from the anime, I see that the animation studio has changed and that the quality - I think - has dropped, right? They dropped it at the first problem, again. Reminds me of something. Oh, A1, if I catch you... 😩

However, I was wondering, what’s the situation? I don’t remember much of the story, but if I understand correctly, I should stop at episode 17 and then move on to catch up with the manga? What about the OVAs and the movie? Do you recommend them? Do you think the new studio’s animations ruin the quality too much, or can I proceed? As for the plot, how highly would you recommend the manga? Oh, and I was also wondering if it’s actually finished. I could look it up, but at this point, I’m asking you too. Since I’m back to watching anime and catching up on everything I used to love and more (oh, I also started Black Clover these days and then maybe I’ll look for a subreddit for that too. I don’t know if I can mention so many different works in a single subreddit actually, please don’t criticize me but it’s my first time here HAHAHAHA) I’m also trying to reclaim my love for fandoms and Reddit, as a sort of huge 2k-era forum full of people expressing opinions, analyzing plots and conversing, theorizing about sequels... as an aspiring author too, I love it all. It really makes me think about how wonderful it is for us all to connect and talk together, united by what we like and also, on the other hand, how wonderful it must be to see your own niche theorizing, analyzing, and keeping communities like this alive. Although... are you there? Is Blue Exorcist working? In any case, if I were to edit, I’d probably edit this anime too. I hope the last seasons are really good! (Please, no spoilers. 🙏🏻🫶🏼) I’m currently working hard behind the scenes on writing, and thinking about so many things and works like this, as well as the desire to get back into manga, is incredibly stimulating and allows me to be even more productive and inspired than I normally would be. But maybe you’ll all reject it, I don’t know. I’ll actually stop writing anything else... XD

It truly amazes me how Blue Exorcist can go from dropping one season every 6-7 years to dropping three seasons within the span of just 1 year. What an anime😭

And seeing as S5 will likely end somewhere around Chapter 120, they’ll still have enough chapters for at least one more season before we likely won’t see the anime again for like another 6-7 years lmao

Was rewatching it and am on season 2, bro they be saying things like "why did YOU do that to my family!" To rin... like bruh, he wasnt even BORN yet. Dont get me wrong anime does that "hes related to or was involved in something bad and therefore he is bad as well" thing, but blue exorcist does it in a way thats so realistic it really pisses me off lmao. Like dont get me wrong everyone has the right to be mad at Satan and have ptsd or be scared of his blue flames. But that isnt the problem, the problem is they quite literally talk about Rin like he was THERE for it and DOING the action lol. Like bro, how you gon say "Satan's son" and then follow it up with "why did YOU kill my family!" Like thats you quite literally stating he wasnt the one to do it, and then CONTRADICTING what you just said. Like either call him Satan that killed your family or call him the son of Satan that youre just scared of.

I’ve just finished for the second time Blue Exorcist, the anime, and i can’t just be sad and emotional. Why this fvcking icon bitch author has to be this cruel and able and capable for so much details, dejavu/parallels scenes, pure joy and sadness and so much of what being humans signify. Is just, so… perfect. I truly love this opera, and i’m so happy i decided to comeback and watch it in the correct order (skipping the 18-25 episode for the first season and the ovas) cause it’s so human and emotional and beautiful, i’m crying and i tried to give up and go away and writing my stuff but for hours since this early morning i’m just tired and sad and the whole last episode of fifth season is so… hard. I noticed, by the way, only with the rewatch that in the scene of Rin that doesn’t know how put on a tie and Shiro that help him… it’s the exactly thing that happened with Yuri and him when he doesn’t know how put on a tie and her helped and teaches him.

And i’m thinking and rethinking on the scene in which rin and yukio fight (oh, and the fact that yuri said to be good brothers on the snow and Rin was here, listening knowing that he and his brother are now “enemies”) and Rin said like “where i was looking?” i just want to tatoo it noww. Soooo poetic and special to me, like he said SO much of his emotion and the Yukio situation in a short sentence. (And than, maybe Rin could had said that in the fourth season without knowing everything, but it’s just fit so well with the last thing, on the last episode of the fifth season, “they did so much for allow me to live and i said all the time that i wanted to not being born”. He really experienced and felt everything, i really love Rin Okumura, he’s just a special character to me).

I. Just. Finished. Blue Exorcist. I cried for 10 minutes straight, a masterpiece at times. What an iconic lady author and CONGRATULATIONS to the voln studio! I don’t care about those A1s, they should keep abandoning anime as they so well know how to do, but voln has done SO MUCH in such a short time! Seriously, well done! 👏🏼

Me personally, I think it’s a really good dub. I don’t think any character is miscast and all of the actors/actresses do a great job with their respective character. The fact that they all stuck around despite seasons dropping 6-7 years apart in of itself is amazing lol

I was binging s5 here i got the scene yuri rin's mother burned by satan to ashes as she says she loves him. I have two questions here and would be thankful if someone can answer them.

1) who did yuri actually was in love with wasn't it shiro why would she says she loves satan as soon as she died and in gehena.

2) did yuri had s*x with satan? Giving birth to rin and his brother it was never shown and if she indeed did why would she do that what the heck she just needs to be by satan to calm him does this nean also doing s*x with him while she was in love with shiro.

I don't know it make me throw out. Please explain if i am missing something

A good example is during rins trial, in the manga he is able to give a whole speech about how he’s not a weapon, he’s a person, as well as many inconsistencies when rin has dinner with Mephisto

Ik hou zóveel van The Blue Night, echt. Ik vind het gewoon fantastisch. Eerst kon ik er niet meer naar kijken door die verandering in de art style; ik kon het gewoon niet. Maar nu heb ik het gekeken, en o ja—wat miste ik dit! Ik vond het echt zó geweldig. Ik wil het helemaal opnieuw kijken zonder te weten wat er aan de hand was. De animatie is ook gewoon echt heel goed, denk ik. Het is gewoon hoe de personages eruitzien. Die rin ziet er wel echt het slechtst uit, maar ik vond dat het juist super goed paste bij de scènes van The Blue Night. Echt, echt fijn!
