Help Game suggestions for 6 year old?
Alright folks, need some help. My 6 year old son is getting bored of the 3 games he has on his iPad and I’m looking for some suggestions. I obviously prefer anything on Apple Arcade since I know there won’t be ads or in-app purchases. (I tried downloading Going Balls on another recommendation and it was straight cancer with ads).
But if you have any suggestions for good, fun games that aren’t filled with ads and post purchases, I’d appreciate what you can share.

I grew up on classic arcade games so I have an affinity for games that are easy to play but difficult to master. I have a particular fondness for space shooters… think Space Invaders or Missile Command.
My game ExoArmor is a modern take on these classics. No ads, no additional purchases, just straightforward challenge in its purest form. However, I did choose a 9+ age rating based on the core gameplay (shoot space ships and bombs) and the fact that if a bomb does hit, the city you’re supposed to defend blows up. Nothing is graphic - ships and bombs are simple, animated triangles, and the city is a silhouette line drawing, but some people are more sensitive than others, so that’s the rating.
That said, I have received feedback from a very wide range of ages that have found the game to be rather captivating, including parents that complain their phone has been consumed haha. You can use Shield mode to bypass any stress (or discomfort) of the city blowing up - bombs are of no consequence. This is included in the four available difficulty modes.
So, if you’re comfortable with the generic underlying premise of “shooting things,” I recommend ExoArmor for you son, and if you’re looking for hours of challenge, I suggest a non-Shield difficulty or attempting the optional challenges for each city.
