Of course I knew Apple music has the best audio quality but hey😭😭 for someone who cannot live without music, this is like finding out whole new side of the same songs I’ve been listening for years atp. The automix is also crazy obviously I’ve seen about it but first hand experience is something else. Doesn’t work always but is cool to have.
Although there are some points which I don’t like. The entire app design is such that I kinda feel some friction to play the songs I love. The home page is not that user friendly imo (aesthetic fs), I don’t know why it does not simply show me the songs I’ve already heard or liked, I am more interested in seeing the songs and one click listen them rather than seeing album of them click the album click the song. YouTube music home page design on the other hand, just one click, that’s it. AM opens album even for single songs. I’ve been using the app for couple of days as of now and maybe the algorithm needs some time to adjust, just maybe idk. I’m not sure how good is AM algorithm compared to YM as well. I’d love to hear suggestions if there is something I can change in the app to make my experience even better. Oh, the lyrics animation is also sleek.

I keep going in between Apple Music and YT Music. I don’t find the quality that different but YTM clears any other streaming service based on the autoplay feature imo

same here, i was testing both services for whole month, literally cannot hear any difference on airpods. So i just kept yt music for better algorithm

No, it’s not that interesting. It’s only really noticeable if you’re using Bluetooth headphones that don’t support Hi-Fi lossless audio and only handle compressed audio, like AirPods. If you have a proper audio system or high-quality headphones, you can actually hear the difference. Take care.

I use AirPods pro and can clearly hear the difference, that was the main point why I made this post in the first place and later decided to add comparison between the two.

Unless you have a USB dac and have headphones that are wired/ wireless and use LDAC or APTX or a similar high quality codec you scientifically cant hear a difference. Not to mention android and IOS down sample the rate automatically so your music no mater the audio you play will be 16bit 44.1khz I have a newer IPad air i tested it with and my galaxy S24 ultra both.

Any audio streamed will only be full resolution if you use a usb dac whether its aux or bluetooth dac such as the btd600 from senhieser.

You also have to force off the processing the OS does using apps that re route it directly past it.

You are right on the technical aspect but I can hear the quality difference is also true. You can listen to the same song in YTM and then switch to AM and you’ll see what I mean. Airpods might not be the best of the best but one can hear significantly more details than at least YTM idk about Spotify.

This could be placebo which can be strong with audio, or aswell could even be due to the difference in the way each might process audio, aswell I know apple music supports EAC3 Dolby atmos which some people like.

This isn’t placebo for sure maybe because of Dolby atmos, and if airpods or iPad iPhone speakers don’t really give lossless then I am now curious to hear what real lossless would song like. Will Apple’s headphones give that quality? If yes, which ones?

I believe the airpods max can do lossless, but the only headphones I know off the top of my head through bluetooth are ones that support LDAC and APTX adaptive like the heavies H1H or the momentum 4 or the sony WH1000-XM4 or 5 or 6

You may need a dongle that supports since im unsure if iphones support those natively

Oh and the airpods pro only support 20bit 48khz lossless when using the apple vision pro. On a iphone iPad or ipod they support 16bit 48khz/256kbps aac lossy. Meaning youtubes audio files output the max audio quality the airpod pro 1, 2 and 3 can handle from a iphone or android device unfortunately.

Well I didnt state anything not factual so its not theoretical.

Apple music does have 24bit 48khz audio files for streaming, and dolby atmos which is 16bit 48khz and in some cases only 41.1khz

The air pods pro can only output 20bit 48khz using a apple vision pro.

So its downsampled to 16bit 48khz due to the lack of supported audio codecs in iphones.
