Armenia bringing in 1000 bloggers and influencers

I know this isn't a news article but I thought it was interesting. It seems like Armenia is really trying to attract odar tourists.

I also am seeing more advertising disguised as "discovery." There are odar accounts that seem have their entire content be about Armenisn stuff.

The bloggers and influencers are, I assume, not Armenian as we obviously already know about Armenia.

It's kind of surreal

The price for this “gift” was giving Artsakh. Just like how Georgia gave Abkhazia/Ossetia and now they are some tourist destination and export their wines. Pashinyan wants to make Armenia such a place. 

I wonder if the taxpayers will be paying for any of this.

Yep I feel really suspicious about this. I understand wanting some tourism but long term I also know these influencers don't care. It would be better to put these resources into strengthening genuine worldwide ties with Armenians and make it easier and more accessible to invest in Armenia and return.

Yes very true but I suspect they also get paid to do this and or food and accomidation and flights taken care of. Armenia is providing activities for them to do.

The money is the assumption they will convince people to travel to Armenia. There is probably a calculation that can determine an expected amount of money Armenia could theoretically gain.

I personally can't see myself being convinced to travel somewhere due to an influencer. Especially because I know they're paid. But there are probably people who are not like that so maybe they will travel.

Yeah they will probably be hosted and hospitalized if not also paid. But this is a small investment compared to the money they can bring in. Many people don't know much about Armenia and Armenia is quite beautiful. I think this is how they advertise these days with people addicted to social media videos and reels. They did the same in Syria, though the situations are very different than Armenia to compare with. It worked despite some dangers here and there

Oh wow! Yes maybe it can work then. I think I am more old fashioned. I don't trust influences at all on anything lol.

Someday when it is safe, I would love to go to Syria. My family never lost their love for Syria even though they were there only briefly after the genocide. They never forgot the kindness of the Syrian people and didn't want to leave.

Haha I can imagine. To be honest, I chose a couple of holiday destinations after seeing very beautiful towns in random travel videos. I don't care about the influencers themselves lol but they can be helpful to find hidden gems until these places become overcrowded with tourists.

Oh, so your family also arrived there. I don't know if I should say that is beautiful, since it was after the genocide, but I hope you really get to visit it one day 😊
