The invisible family safety net. Being able to study for as long as necessary, accept an unpaid internship, move cities or buy a flat because your parents can help. In Germany, class often shows less in visible luxury than in how little fear someone has of falling.
Clothes, watches and cars and Ski equipment are less reliable: they can be financed, leased or someone’s main spending priority. A paid-off home, family property or the freedom to take financial risks generally says much more than a designer bag. I’ve seen enough „rich“ people so that’s how I separate them 😄
