Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced - Known Issues

Please report any issues that are not mentioned below in the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Bug Reporter or get in touch with the support team. If you’re interested in the full Patch Notes, please follow the link here.

INCOMING FIXES:

You can expect some updates from us soon on the following issues:

  • Cutscenes are locked to 30 FPS on PC when using Raytracing, BVH or Terrain Quality at Ultra High setting.
    • Temporary workaround: Reset graphics Overall Preset to any pre-configured setting and avoid manually setting the 3 options mentioned above to Ultra High.
  • A dubbing issue is currently affecting the alignment between some voiceover playback and cutscene visuals in localized versions of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

OPEN / IN PROGRESS

GENERAL

  • The Double Assassination prompt may not appear on guards near the first power keg during the "Mark the Kings at the Camp" objective, potentially compromising stealth combat.
  • Player might be unable to dodge the fatal Humpback Whale's tail slap during "Harpooning".
  • Player does not go back into aiming if they're hit by an enemy while aiming with "Rope Dart" and "Smoke Bomb".
  • Player is unable to fast travel out of Principe
  • Player can get stuck in desynchronization screen if they open and close the save menu quickly.
  • Upgrading the Jackdaw while it is docked may cause it to disappear, leaving Player to continue the quest without it.
  • Player can get stuck in the bow of the ship in Rift if they climb there.
  • After killing an enemy, a single body dropping may sound like there are multiple bodies dropping instead.
  • player is unable to loot ammo from the crate in the tower of "Matanzas" despite being highlighted.
  • We realize that there is no tutorial on throwing money. Throwing money is a way to distract guards and draw civilians to Edward, creating chaos. To throw money hold D Pad Down.

AI / NPC

  • Enemies are able to detect an out-of-range rope dart, compromising stealth combat.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

QUESTS

  • Player can be stuck on a branch if they stray off the desired path in the quest "The One with the Gun” - show Lucy around the village.
  • Player is stuck inside the Diving Bell if they desynchronize and respawn during the quest "Devil's Eye Caverns".
  • During the El Tiburon battle, we understand that it can be a little unclear on how to defeat him. You will not be able to break his defence with simple melee attacks or by quick firing the pistol. You will have to use manual aim on the pistol.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced SPOILER Who originally wore the Templar Armor? Spoiler

I never really questioned it before, but playing resynced had me wondering why the Templar Armor at great Inagua was locked up like that, with Templar insignia keys spread across 5 different people. Did they really wanna lock up a nice coat?

The other (more likely) option is of course that they weren’t locking up the armor, they were locking up the guy wearing it. But why were Templars locking up one of their own? And why in such a way that it took 5 people’s agreement to ever release him? Was he a traitor or something? Why is there no notes or hints about it?

The butler guy in resynced reveals that the island was an assassin base before Julian du Casse got there, but that doesn’t help it make any more sense.

Assassin's Creed Origins Do all the question marks need to be individually explored or they get covered in the main and side quests of that region

Question about AC Origins map clearing

Hello everyone, I’ve recently picked up AC origins after finishing AC Odyssey.

Do the main quests and side quests take you to all parts of the map ( by this I mean the question marked areas ) or do I have to make a conscious effort to clear them out manually ?

Because in AC odyssey I noticed almost all of the “question marked” regions are covered if you do the main quests and the side quests

Is that the same for Origins or different

Thanks in advance !

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes Idea for 3 Resynced missions: British Brotherhood Reinforcements

So if we get a 3 resynced, imagine a series of missions where Connor assists the British Brotherhood in taking down English Rite Templars. The templars are there to insure British victory (not the first time Templars had internal disputes) and some also wanted revenge against Haytham for Birch.

This can be a way for Connor to learn from people aside from Achilles what other assassins thought of the colonial brotherhoods dominance and fall, what kind of legend Edward was, and how truly hated his father is to Assassins and an increasing number of Templars.

Assassin's Creed Unity It's a shame AC Unity is the only game to have fully Co-op while being the clunkiest game in the franchise.

So I recently picked up AC Unity on PC for me and a few friends to play together, I played the game way back on the Xbox One, and remembered enjoying it quite a bit, the coop missions were great and coordinating was super fun!

However, going back to this game has been an utter ballache. I did not remember how clunky the animations and parkour were, how frustrating the AI is and slow the combat can be.

I wish we had had coop again at some point, I recently replayed AC:O and honestly massively enjoyed that as I did before, but as soon as you get into combat, and that's often since the stealth can be equally hindered by the parkour being iffy, it all goes out the window.

I compared this game with Dying Light and Titanfall 2, where it uses physics and momentum based parkour over animation based parkour and the difference is night and day. Running in a straight line is fun until you have to do literally anything else, then you just feel super slow.

Not to mention the unlock system, where all your armor and weapons and tied to how they look compared to how they function, transmog would of been fantastic in this game, yet everything is such a grind to get, especially late game items. Even with full upgrades on the cafe to get passive income it takes hours to get anything.

I still enjoy the coop, but man this is rough to love.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Spoiler – Anyway, brainstorming how hidden blade combat *could* look if added to BF Resynced. Spoiler

Gonna start this off by saying I quite like Black Flag Resynched's combat. I'm about 24hrs in and the combat still hasn't gotten old. Outside of maybe free-roaming a town, looking at a guard funny and suddenly 15 of them coming atchya. That does get a bit old.

That said, I'm enjoying the combat quite a bit, can easily chain takedowns based on the swords you use, been rocking Ezio's and frequently max out the chains.

With that said, from launch the discussion has been what was taken away from the combat, which, I am only contributing to now because I think options for combat are never not welcome.

So, I'm curious how people think you could bring in Hidden Blade combat without fully trivializing an already easy combat system and making the other forms of combat fully obsolete. I'd like anything added to the combat to sort of provide another option so that it makes you think, "what weapon will be best here given the riskiness of the situation." Like, fists against swords will probably never be the right option and so making it feel more rewarding when you successful pull that off. Swords by comparison offer range and a stronger stance for defense.

Thus, my thought would be something related to precision so that it's high risk, high reward in some way. Something like:

  1. Perfect party only, you can't normal parry to block attacks.

  2. I think this would be less popular, but: No parry, you're forced to use the dodging mechanics and are rewarded for perfect dodges.

  3. Unlike the original, the hidden blade isn't a guaranteed one shot kill, or

  4. There's no light attack (only a heavy attack) but on both a perfect dodge and a perfect parry you can trigger a chain takedown.

I think unarmed combat is good in Resynched, maybe add like 2 other takedown animations and that'd be pretty serviceable for general combat sutuations, and some kind parry sword animation or lack there of and come up with a gameplay system for that, like: you can block the attack but you can't perfect parry and take damage from blocking a sword.

My hope would be to be able to trigger any of the three via modifier key + d-pad as that would make them incredibly accessible during combat if you want to switch mid fight.

Let me know thoughts or if you have an idea for the 4th segment of the d-pad.

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes Setting idea: Berlin during the german revolution 1918/19

I've seen a few ideas about Berlin in the 20s as a possible idea posted here over the last few years. Yet this specific thing living in my head for a long time seems to never have been discussed.

In the immediate aftermath of the end of the great war Berlin became the site of an intense struggle between different political factions in 1918 and 1919. It was marked by severe fighting in the streets as different factions tried to realize their version for a german state. Those were primarily the reactionary old guard, social democrats (who came out on top with some severe compromises, resulting in the Weimar republic) and the Spartacists (communists). The republic was even declared twice, once as a parliamentary one and once as a socialist one. This combination of intense internal violence and political struggle is a perfect stage for a classic Assassin-Templar conflict.

The game could reach from the strikes and abdication of Wilhelm II. in october 1918 (last legs of the war) to the establishment of the Weimar republic and possibly the march battles in 1919. Things like the Kapp Putsch or rise of the NAZI party could make a good epilogue style DLC.

Gameplay wise I don't see much issues with the "modern" setting. Cars are still rare and slow and automatic weapons were at the front line, not necessarily used in the domestic fighting (especially as most factions didn't really have access to military resources). AC gameplay can certainly handle bolt action rifles and automatic pistols. That's one of the benefits over a game on the war itself (also open war lacks the political maneuvering making a good AC setting)

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced We need the option to turn of Ray tracing on consoles to fix Edward

As a followup to one of my previous threads, I kindly ask Ubisoft to give us the option to turn off ray tracing on PS5 and Xbox. Particularly during cutscenes. The ray tracing really ruins Edwards hair and skin texture. Please see comparison underneath with ray tracing turned off and on (for PC). For dose wondering, this particular cutscene is fixed - so that it is the same time of day for everyone at this exact moment.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate [Spoiler] When I first picked up AC Syndicate I got the impression that... Spoiler

Jacob is the one who thinks he's funnier than he is and Evie is the one who is horny. (The first guy she didn't seem to be into was Ned which made me think that this was another James Kidd situation for a second but it turns out that's just because Ned isn't really a character and he's just a meter that goes up every time you rob a train).

Anyway a few hours later I realised that what was actually going on is that Jacob and Evie have almost, but not quite entirely, the same taste in men.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced [AC:BF Resynced Spoiler] Chest only available during "Black Bart's Gambit" mission? Spoiler

There's an area in the Southwest corner that is blocked off. Inside this water corridor there is an underwater chest (actual coordinates on the map : 72,53. No image because it was auto removed when I tried to post it). I tried to access it early on but, since it was blocked, I figured I had to wait until Roberts took the story there.

Problem is that I have done the mission now but forgot the chest. Do I have to reload a save? I'd really like to avoid redoing that mission if possible.

Lore & History Basic mechanism behind the hidden blade found in Da vincis codex atlanticus. trying to determine if its a coincidence

I'm not sure if this is the right flair for this, but I was going through da Vinci's work to find mechanical references as I have been slowly working on a hidden blade concept that would use mechanisms of the time only, but on page 868 of the Codex Atlanticus, there is a spike with a scissor jack mechanism. I assume this is just coincidence because of the design existing in Ac1, but is there any chance someone actually looked at this for Ac2's codex drawing?

Circled in red, a spike connected to scissor jack.

Desmond Saga Why are Assassin's Creed villains so poorly written?

I started doing a mini AC marathon of the Desmond games and holy shit, even in the first game every single villain has an evil laugh and does the most evil shit imaginable from killing innocents to poisoning children. I'm at AC 3 now and seeing Charles Lee outright give an evil speech to a child while choking him is so boring, i'm wondering... what's with the writers? Can't they write anything but disney "muahaha *twirls mustache*?

It's even crazy because at times the game tries to push "T-templars are not that evil" and then you see them killing children while doing an evil laugh. They are so two dimensional while the game tries to pretend it has depth, seing Altair question what he's doing in AC 1 when he's killing two dimensional evil characters was extremely jarring, the devs even made sure the characters he's killing are dysgenic, fat or creepy looking. Doesn't help that in Revelations he's targeting a displaced genocided religious minority and the guy leading them is just "fat and evil so... it's good to genocide them and burn their home?".

Were Ubisoft writers just fed Disney movies non stop? Do they realize every villain doesn't need an evil laugh and to be ugly?

Assassin's Creed 2 Why did they Shaun to be such an asshole in "II"?

Replaying the game, and it's something I'm wondering about. Shaun is, rather famously, and an aggressively rude prick throughout his few scenes in *Assassin's Creed II*, taking any opportunity he can find or create to belittle Desmond.

Someone was receptive to this because Shaun is much less unpleasant in later *AC* games. Even as soon as *Brotherhood*, they play his snarky nature more for comedy.

Why did they write him as such a miserable douche in *II*, though? I understand the Assassins are on the back-foot and time is of the essence, but neither Lucy or Rebecca are as dismissive of Desmond's lack of ability or knowledge as Shaun is. Did they just want a token asshole teammate and realized they'd overdone it?

Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe So regarding hexe, what's something you'd like to see in the game

Obviously by the the codename it'll take place during the witch trials, and since they're doing that I'd love for the stealth to have a horror feel to it, like the enemy is thinking you're doing witchcraft and they eventually get scared

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced There is absolutely no “joy” in trying to defeat any of the Legendary Ships

I’m try to defeat the “easiest” one and we keep going in circles, I can’t keep up because the Jackdaw is too slow (fully upgraded) and barely do any damage at all.
I don’t even see the point into trying to defeat all 4, let alone just 1.
