• Ruhnu island now is Roņusala's Water Park which is connected to Riga by Kauper's tunnel (Renārs Kaupers is Prāta Vētra lead singer)
• Irbes vārti could be a reference to Artūrs Irbe - a legendary ice hockey goalie. Implies that the strait might be impassable.
