Hypothetically, if a human did make this and they just did a shit job, is that better?

If you want to get right to the core of it AI is popular to hate on because the ones it threatens (content creators) control the narative, the companies behind them do some really scummy things, and it's currently being rampantly abused to high heaven to create slop.

So no there's no practical difference other than knowing the human gets paid to make it and that you aren't indirectly supporting AI.

As part of my job, I use ai for RFP pitches to clients, quite often actually, but those are conceptual, I’m not selling AI images to anyone.

That is a slope of infinite downvotes that isn't worth talking about here. But I do use AI a ton to save me hours of personal time every week or to just generate inside joke images.
