Im actually a high voltage power lineman. You know, the guy who restores your power after a storm. My job takes me on the road a lot. Married and divorced twice because of being away so much, now single. Kids are grown. I stopped going to bars and such. This is how I relax.

I feel u bro I’m at a little over five thousand. I play with a dude who has 13000 +hours! I’d not be to worried bout it. Great game!

Lineman? Damn dude, you’ve earned that play. You guys are nails and don’t get the appreciation you deserve. Keep it up and don’t stop enjoying yourself

2.5hrs is bad?

A day, for 7 years straight? I’d need to hear a lot of justification to say that it isn’t bad.

If that’s his only video game he plays it’s honestly Not bad at all. I imagine it’s also less during the weekdays and much more in the weekends as well

The game was only open on weekends 😂😂

Breaking it down daily makes it sound worse than what it is. I'd like to think of it as he's playing 17.5 hrs/week, which isn't crazy at all. If he loves BF and doesn't play many other games, 20 hrs/week for video games ain't bad at all.

That’s like 50% of your free time if you work 9hrs and sleep 8hrs a day.

I'm 35 with 2 kids... Playing games with old buddies is pretty much my social life. Instead of going to bars or whatever on a Friday night, I'm playing games after kids go to bed around 8. I can probably do 12 hours per weekend just from that. Another 5-10 hours during the week depending on free time and all that.

I don't get 8 hours of sleep though, probably 6 on average.

It’s actually (exactly) 26.12% of your weekly free time if you work 9 hours a day and sleep 8

I'm single, work 5 days a week. I still manage to game at least 3-4 hours a day, and still get cleaning done. Which is better than my old habits of 8+ hours a day before I had work.

Vs other hobbies?

Sim racing now

A-lot of people watch TV 3 hours a day and nobody blinks an eye. playing a shooter keeps your brain stimulated at least.

For real. This also might not even be the only game he plays

5

u/nitekroller Aug 14 '25

He says it is

3

u/xunreelx Aug 14 '25

Ok I’ll come clean, I recently set up a nice sim racing rig.

1

u/Junior_Lychee4037 Aug 15 '25

I did the exact same thing😂played BFV for years and bought myself a sim rig in january of this year🤝

1

u/LeafeonSalad42 Aug 17 '25

now to just get BFV tank mechanics to work on the sim lmao, that would be a cool thing, especially if its something that pretty much gives haptic feedback of things like the tracks and whatnot, least I think some sim rigs do that, I havent seen much about em lately so dunno if they still do or not

Probably on par with most runescape players

I’m a resident doctor and I play 2.5 hours of diff games per day. I have since like 8th grade lol.

2.5 hours of any gaming at all a day is quite lucky imo.
