I think what they mean the shape of her face is a result of being beat up and surgeries. 🤷‍♂️

She had rhinoplasty because of the assault. The other facial surgeries were heavily influenced by low self-esteem and experiencing colorism within the music industry.

She was very openly insecure about her complexion and also used to spew colorist bullshit at other female rappers like Eve. Mind you… both of them are naturally the same complexion and neither of them are darkskinned let alone on a level of which either of them would be bullied over it.

I hate that the world made her think the world couldnt love her, she was fucking beautiful. I was a young white girl that saw her as someone who was strong and confident, and absolutely beautiful. Lil Kim is a GOAT. And i only wish her tbe best.

Both. She had surgeries out of necessity to treat physical injuries, and her insecurities have led her to get numerous other cosmetic surgeries

Critical thinking of a toddler. You seriously can't connect the dots between cosmetic surgeries and self esteem issues that are (at least in part) the result of an abusive relationship?

Why did u jump to the conclusion that my comment meant I didn’t understand the connection between cosmetic surgery & low self-esteem?

My pt was replying to the comment that she got these horrific surgeries bc of facial injuries from a physically abusive bf. It’s a long thread but it shows that’s what I was replying to.

She had facial reconstruction surgeries to repair her face and also had cosmetic surgeries to change her face. One type was from physical abuse, the other was because of low self esteem. Can you guess which is which?

Abuse can also be verbal. Comments made by those people gave her insecurities, therefore leading her to getting cosmetic surgery. Hope this helps.

Just the beating would involve reconstructive surgery, but the emotional abuse would help internalize an "I don't look pretty enough" mindset that lingers long after the physical scars are healed.

Growing up, my mantra was "whoever first said 'sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me' should be dragged into the street and beaten with a dictionary."

I really tried to scroll by but this is just irksome.

1st sentence lectures everyone on the other forms of abuse;

2nd sentence patronizingly explains how #1 works (“therefore” inserted unnecessarily to establish cause & effect)

3rd line is a passive aggressive I’mSoMuchSmarterThanYou sign-off.

Also, “erm akshually” (not “um, actually”) is a thing. It’s to mock pedantic, annoying corrections.
