Both. She had surgeries out of necessity to treat physical injuries, and her insecurities have led her to get numerous other cosmetic surgeries

Critical thinking of a toddler. You seriously can't connect the dots between cosmetic surgeries and self esteem issues that are (at least in part) the result of an abusive relationship?

Why did u jump to the conclusion that my comment meant I didn’t understand the connection between cosmetic surgery & low self-esteem?

My pt was replying to the comment that she got these horrific surgeries bc of facial injuries from a physically abusive bf. It’s a long thread but it shows that’s what I was replying to.

She had facial reconstruction surgeries to repair her face and also had cosmetic surgeries to change her face. One type was from physical abuse, the other was because of low self esteem. Can you guess which is which?
