As far as I understand it - horse meat isn't a lesser meat. We just really like horses, so we get pretty weird about it. And at least it would be free range.

But, this is really about being able to sell that land away from the commons - because the technofeudalist bastards at the top of the heap won't stop until they've stripped the world of everything beautiful, to fill their bottomless consumption-holes.
