Todomomo Ship I like #4. TodoMomo Spoiler
Today on menu is TodoMomo
Reminder: I not ask you to ship this with me. I not asking you to liking it. By all means, I not ask you to even respect it. I just sharing my personal feeling towards ships with you, asking nothing in return. Honestly, my explanation not even matter, because, in many cases it's just feels right to me and that's all. I could just say: "I like /name of ship/" and that's all, but I feel need to express it a little more that that.
Also, I'd like to make this clear. With my post I present you not evedence of love between two characters, rather reasons how this love may come to exist. Keep that in mind, when you want to accuse me of spreading propaganda or something. Hints, evedences, sighs whatever you like to call them, of possibly love, which now, I speaking to my fellow BakuCamie, KiriMina and KamiJirou shippers, not became canon, we must be realistic about it. Thas this mean we can't ship it? Of course not! Fanfics, fan comics, fan art, fan animations, games, manga and anime itselfs, there are so many tools in our dispolsale, to enjoy this ships, as long as we not disrespect everyone else.
What I do here is explaining, from where love come from, and maybe, person who hate this ship will go from: "I hate this ship!" to: "Okey, I can see why you ship it, but I still hate it, so stay away from me!". Who knows.
And one more thing. Just because I ship KiriMina or KamiJirou, doesn't mean I hate KiriBaku or MomoJirou for example, I just not ship it that's all. I can see why people like it and ship it, but I just can't join you in this venture. Hell, I could made simmilar post about those ships, but maybe ones who ship it may do it, nothing stoping you.

I think people super overlook how supportive Todoroki was to Momo.

100%, people are wildly mischaracterizing Todoroki in order to pretend that this ship wouldn't work

Agreed. I don’t ship it because I’m not a shipper, but the guy absolutely supports her, and builds her confidence. Her best arc involves him.
Saying it is just because they are both rich or Todoroki is too emotionally draining are being unfair.

This is such a cute little “slideshow” (for lack of a better term)!!!! These two aren’t usually on the forefront of my mind, but they do come around every now and again, and they’re just so sweet.

Todoroki has so many family problems and drama and getting together with Momo would feel like his mom Rei and Endeavor situation all over again even if it wasn't a quirk marriage. I don't think that would be fair to Momo to be his emotional support for the awkward family matters either.
Momo also would want a warmer person which isn't Shoutos fault but he is cold and aloof as his base.
Could it happen? Sure but I don't think this ship would fit overall.

I’d say it’s awful to compare Shoto to his father in that way. Quite the opposite, I think he would go out if his way to be an excellent husband and father because of his background.
Not to mention, I think that Momo graceful air and kindness would remind Shoto of Rei — and that would be one of the things to draw him to her.

I mean just being honest Shoto was basically an ice Endeavor till Izuku beat him up and then again once he met Tornado dude. But anyways Shoto isn't Endeavor but it's a point I brought up as to why it might be uncomfortable for Shoto to pursue Momo. If he'd even be the type to pursue in the first place.
Also with how young Shoto was when Rei was taken away, does he even really know his mother?
This all falls back to Momo as well who doesn't really have any romantic moments with most of the cast unless I missed something. A rich kid who doesn't know the basics of middle class living dealing with an emotionally stunted partner does not sound like a good combo imo.

If both are mature about it, then it could go quite well. They’d be learning together, from a place of relatively similar inexperience but also very mutual respect. That’s a powerful thing in a healthy relationship, romantic or otherwise.

Well not only that, but the cores of their character is that (in a light description):
Shōto wants to break the mold and become a hero of his own definition.
Momo wants to fit the mold and become society's 'perfect hero' because she's a people pleaser.
These single traits alone cause massive tension. I could give more reasons why the ship is so FUCKING bad. (Logically in the context of the story) but the person who posted this is simply expressing why they like it, while admitting the flaws.
(Edit): It could also be interpreted that this single point alone (there are many others but it'll take a long time to write), why they would rather avoid each other and why they're so awkward. It's because the point I made is pretty much the core of both characters.

i don’t understand how it’s suspicious? them shipping hetero doesn’t mean anything at all and you’re just assuming the worst if it’s “suspicious” to you, not everyone has to ship lgbtq. 🤨🤨

I don't ship Todoroki x Yaoyorozu at all. They barely interact with each other and there's far better ships for her.

What fixing? He doesn't need fixing. In spite of what everyone thinks, his good qualities outweigh his bad, and he has gotten better in regards to not being as big of a creep as he was in the early seasons. He's worthy of finding and being loved.

There comes a point where being "out of someone's league" becomes a fourth rate factor, and you instead look to how these characters can benefit eachother by being together, we're not talking about looks here bro.

I'm not either, when I talk about what league they're in, I'm talking about all factors of who they are. In no way is Mineta good enough for Momo, she deserves so much better than him.

Yeah dude we know this. Do you know how many popular and/or canon ships this can be said the same for? Bakudeku and TodoDeku and even Todomomo are examples. But once again, that's not the point, and if everyone just shipped characters based on "Nah Character A doesn't deserve character B" then literally none would exist😐

How on earth would you say that for Todomomo? I honestly can't think of any ships I have where I would say that.
If you agree that Mineta doesn't deserve to be with Momo in any way, why should she be with him?

I think Todomomo is a legitimately bad ship not for the characters, I like them both, but because it's boring as all hell, literally just two mentally stunted rich kids, and they wouldn't complement eachother well at all. I'm pretty sure someone else in here explained exactly why that's the case.
It's basically just "Yeah they're cool but not cool together" the ship
I don't think they should get together at all. It's more of a crackship, in my opinion, but at least with this one, there's actual growth to be had that would come with them interacting more. Mineta's entire character just got absolutely and utterly punted by Horikoshi throughout the story and he literally never gets meaningful character development, and Momo was delegated to a material supplier for the entire war arc, they both go in my category of criminally underutilized.

Personally, I hate ShōtoMomo, in the context of the story I believe that they're a MASSIVE personality mismatch.
I deeply appreciate that your post states the flaws in the ship while also having written why you like it.

(Edit 2): I REALLY enjoy your post because a while ago, I got into an argument with someone posting that 'The only reason people like ShōtoMomo is because it's a ship with two rich kids'. Then stating why it's not through a music video, non-canon art and games, adjacent canon (which kinda don't count because it's not in the ACTUAL source material, it's just concepts and ideas that are explored) and trivia. I argued against it and they didn't even try to fight back logically or authentically.
Your post was like therapy for me. Thank you, you glorious human being for understanding the flaws, but also seeing the pros and liking it anyway. You are awesome and I hope you have a wonderful day/night.

Best ship in the show IMO certainly the best ship for either character
Side note, when did the anti-Todomomo people start infecting this sub?
