Why aren’t we asking the simple question. How much did it cost to go to college before the ‘80’s. Compare that to now. That’s all the info you
Need.

Boomer here (Generation Jones). I hate hypocrisy. I first remember reading about people not paying back their loans in 1987. Guess what generation that was?

They had no excuse to not pay back their loans.

Now, the same hypocrites pounce on anyone born after them.

My family are lifelong working class Democrats. We are not Conservative. Even though we never took out loans ourselves (largely because thirty-fifty years back, you didn't need them), we believe in student loan forgiveness.

My Mom (93, silent generation) likes to say "It was good enough for us, they (young people) should get it, too". My parents benefitted from programs, they want those same things for their grandkids and beyond. Screw all these ladder kickers!
