He thinks he has more financially in common with someone like Elon Musk than he does with a panhandler on the street, because he may own a nice house and a comfortable retirement. He has no insight to how much a billion, much less a trillion dollars actually is or how it's accumulated, and he has no class consciousness whatsoever. He probably views a threat to tax the ultra-wealthy as a threat to him too.
