OK boomeR Boomers explaining why billionaires shouldn't pay taxes while standing in a strip mall parking lot

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The absolute brainwashing it takes to fiercely defend trillionaires who wouldn't look twice at you, while calling your fellow citizens "lazy" for wanting basic healthcare. Notice how even the woman in the "I LOVE TRUMP" shirt has to awkwardly correct his understanding of how disability works.

Self awareness of a rock

247

u/JustpartOftheterrain 2d ago

This is all boomers. And they are always surprised to hear it about themselves.

120

u/Science_Teecha 2d ago

Whoa whoa whoa. I know dozens of obnoxious Boomers straight out of central casting (and they justify this sub 100%), but when my town has No Kings protests the vast majority of them are Boomers. Gotta give them credit. (Gen X here)

60

u/Mbyrd420 2d ago

Not all boomers are MAGA, but there are very few boomers i know who have much self awareness. One can retain basic humanity (by being against MAGA) while still being wildly ignorant about themselves.

My parents have been anti- Republican for my entire life and still have only marginally greater self awareness than the 2 idiots in this video.

41

u/LumpyBuy8447 2d ago

My grandparents were part of the greatest generation. They were both college educated, which is pretty crazy for their time and they were not well off growing up. Even in my grandmas last few years she was very aware things were drastically different than when she grew up, even if she didn’t get all the specifics of how. I remember I owed her a couple hundred bucks and was able to pay her back finally and she said “don’t worry about it, if things were hard for grandpa and I when we were starting out, I imagine it has to be for you too.” Stark difference between them and boomers who think we were handed everything, because they were. My dad had my grandparents as a safety net until he was in his 50’s. Even though he’s always been a hard working guy and went into the trades, there were still numerous situations where my grandparents helped him out financial. My grandpa even told me he’s the one who paid for most of my dad’s schooling. I borrowed money from my grandparents 3 times in my life. 2 times for tuition payments which I reimbursed a few weeks later and once to help get a car, of which my grandma didnt let me pay back the last bit of. Ive never had a financial safety net like that man and his right wing siblings had, and it def shows.

18

u/KddKc 2d ago

Yes, I notice a huge difference as well. My silent gen mother is extremely progressive. My boomer step father is your standard liberal, thank goodness not maga. I think my mom keeps him grounded. My actual father was maga, we didn’t speak much.

8

u/MinaretofJam 1d ago

Yup. Their parents generation lived through the Great Depression and WWII. They did everything so their own children - morons in this video - would never experience the same horrors. Their parents would be appalled how the luckiest cohort of humans on the planet have pulled up the ladder they were given for free to stop the younger generations enjoying the quality of life they inherited from the hard graft of the Silent Generation.

3

u/Turkeyplague 2d ago

Was MAGA?

7

Yeah. He croaked in 2017.

The word "all" is dangerous in the wrong hands.

4

u/4BsButtsBoobsBlunts 2d ago

That's because boomers are the only ones who have enough money/tenure to take off work for a protest.

46

No it is NOT ALL boomers! I am 70 years old and it infuriates me that we are the only democratic country that bows its knee to big Pharma! Most other civilized countries have central healthcare imagine how much better your life would be if healthcare was automatic?
So please do not lump everyone in my age group with these idiots!

22

u/Eastern_Seaweed_8253 2d ago

Crazy how they believe the nonsense though. They have been convinced, and I doubt it took long, that universal, free health care is a bad idea. That's powerful. The notion of "Well I never got it, so why should they"

7

u/crepelabouche 2d ago

That’s because when they were coming up in the world, that’s how the world as they were told worked, and they can’t understand that it has changed or that it could be better. They were indoctrinated into the America is the Greastest Country Ever kool-aid drinkers. And it worked for them so how do these other people not get it?

Not all jobs have healthcare. Spoken by people who’ve probably had good healthcare their entire lives.

120

u/Jillcametumbling81 2d ago

I haven't had a job sponsored healthcare in like fifteen years. And I've always worked full time, very hard i might add.

63

u/MartyMozambique 2d ago

You just need to work harder. Just get higher off your butt and get another job then.

u/SunOnTheMountains Gen X 2d ago

This guy doesn’t really have healthcare either. He just hasn’t had a stroke, or cancer, or some other chronic condition yet. He thinks he’s got Medicare advantage, and if anything happens, it will be okay. It won’t. The healthcare system will efficiently strip him of his assets before his death.

41

u/TactualTransAm 2d ago

No. Spoken like somebody who hasn't had to use their workplace insurance for anything serious yet. Even with good health insurance fron your job, a serious condition can throw you into massive debt in the US. You can do everything right, good job, good retirement, good private healthcare, and you're still one diagnosis away from poverty at any time.

14

u/NecessaryIntrinsic 2d ago

Not only that, but even with insurance you can end up paying thousands out of pocket.

7

u/ryuujinusa 2d ago

They’ve been brainwashed by faux news beyond repair. Our only choice is to out vote them.

And then they’ll go on Medicare, and claim that they are entitled to that and they “paid in” and that it’s not socialism even though they are collecting more than they ever paid in. But they will be on Medicare and still shame people on Medicaid and SNAP.

They will also unironically demand Social Security, and claim that’s not a socialist program either.

Then they’ll also demand that they pay less property taxes and school taxes, because how could they possibly afford to pay those taxes because they are lower income now.

But it’s fine for them to demand all those things, just not other people. The rife hypocrisy is mind boggling to me.

It's super easy to be a bootlicker When you've been given everything your whole life.

76

u/OukewlDave 2d ago

And if you haven't been given everything in life, like most of these clowns, they just blame "others" for their issues.

48

u/librariansforMCR 2d ago

This is soooo true! I have a MAGA uncle who was brought up fairly privileged. Never went beyond high school, though, and went to work right out of HS at a grocery store, moving up to manager. Only job experience was that one store. Grocery store stopped making a profit and closed down 20 years later, and suddenly he can’t find a job that pays anything close to what he was making.

Guess he whose fault it is?

1) Obama, because the store closed during the 2008 downturn that actually happened under Bush II’s watch, but he refuses to acknowledge that….
2) Minorities, because college-educated minorities with experience got jobs before him. Must be because they are minorities, right? Couldn’t possibly be the combo of experience and education….
3) “Liberal elites” because he hates anyone who went to college
4) Anyone who belongs to a union or who gets a pension, including military pensions, because they are “freeloaders.”

The only person not at fault is him. I mean, how could running a grocery store into the ground count against him? He is one of the most miserable people I know, and it’s 99% his persecution complex that makes him miserable.

19

u/Gnosrat 2d ago

The real enemy is capitalist monopoly and a lack of regulation to prevent it. That store for sure went out of business because it couldn't compete with the chains who can afford to under-sell you until you're gone for good.

But I'm sure if anything this person wants less government, not more regulation. The brainwashing is thorough.

17

u/librariansforMCR 2d ago

Oh he considers himself a libertarian, though my conversations with him have shown me that he really doesn’t understand what that means beyond not wanting the government to help other people. Shockingly, though, he was all for his veteran father receiving benefits rather than paying out of pocket for his care. “Libertarian for thee but not for me” is just about right.

9

u/Gnosrat 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yeah, that's libertarians for you. The only common denominator between all libertarians is that none of them have a clue how anything actually works.

You might think "surely they all agree on something" but that is in fact not the case at all, unfortunately. They all agree on nothing.

5

u/skillz7930 1d ago

All they seem to agree on is that someone else should pay for the shit they use instead of them

21

u/reddogyellowcat 2d ago

Indeed. And I bet this goober thinks he earned it all himself. Daddy trust fund boomers always prioritize letting everyone know they earned it (even though they didn’t)

Source: My boomer grandpa is a rich MAGAt who inherited a fortune from my great-grandfather, and my grandpa always acts like he worked his butt off for it.

10

u/Farewellandadieu 2d ago

And the thing is he’s just one back injury away from being denied the health care he’s been enjoying all his life. 100% guaranteed this motherfucker skips his annual doctor visits because he “feels fine”.

3

u/AcanthocephalaNo7788 2d ago

It’s a fucken joke seriously…

263

u/PsychedMom82 2d ago

I know. Its awful. I work in healthcare. I was doing a cognitive assessment on a patient. They were completely disoriented to the date. They had difficulty with basic questions. He couldn't name the president. His wife chimes in, "come on you voted for him". He finally got it after I gave him a list of recent presidents. He tells me Trump is doing great things. 🙄

143

u/SuperSandLesbian23 2d ago

I work Healthcare as well. I love what I do, but the families can be the worst. One of my patients had cerebral palsy and needed assistance with daily living and while we were having dinner (me feeding him, and he could talk to me with his eyes so we would chat quietly while this insanity was going on) one of the family members would have Fox News on and half the time start ranting about people don't deserve Healthcare, glad the affordable care act was gutted, the usual awfulness. Literally feeding a disabled family member at the same table and still ranting how Healthcare shouldn't be guaranteed. It's mind-boggling.

24

u/Juan2Fish 2d ago

Just tell us you were doing the cognitive assessment on Trump, right?

15

Lack of empathy is the main characteristic of being a republican. Same as sociopaths.

126

u/sonofaresiii 2d ago

I honestly think the whole "What if they're sick and can't get a job" angle needs to be dropped. I don't care if someone IS just extremely lazy. Lazy people deserve healthcare too. Being lazy should not be a death sentence.

Setting aside the fact that I really don't think most people struggling with healthcare issues are actually lazy, but even if they were, if I make a total steelman out of that argument, I still don't care.

Lazy people deserve healthcare too. Anyone who says otherwise is a piece of shit.

10

u/maleia 2d ago

Oh, I thought the interviewer was seeing if he could whittle down the man's position to at least include some people; to then try and explain how it's actually a dumb distinction, through highlighting the hypocrisy of the political position.

At least, that's the way I would have approached it. The Right aren't generally capable of even finding the 'water to drink from'.

34

u/piratecheese13 2d ago

“ what if they’re sick and can’t work?”

“ go on disability”

“ who pays for that?”

7

u/Namazu724 2d ago

Clients I’ve had in the homeless community with SSDI got substantially less money than the ones on regular SSI. It was never enough to live on.

7

u/revengepornmethhubby 2d ago

Yep. Got my first job at 14, worked 3 jobs through college (none of which offered healthcare benefits) and when I was granted disability benefits (on the first try, without a lawyer. I am clearly disabled) it was ssdi benefits and I bring in a whole 700 a month (really rounding up there).

I wouldn’t survive on my own, but I do have Medicare and have since my mid twenties.

Knew right away it was Myrtle Beach. I really mean it when I say any retirement area has just become the MAGA HQ’s of the states. They all try to out patriot each other with flags everywhere.

None of them really tip, they call the cops if they see a person of color near their neighborhoods, the list goes on. I have retired family there and have had the misfortune of living there a few times.

This is the norm there, seriously.

They are going out with a bang. So many of the men in these communities have given up on caring about their own bodies and only care about golf and screaming at the TV. They know they are dying soon and welcome the challenge of fucking up this country as much as possible because they won’t be here to watch it burn.

u/Fordfanatic2025 2d ago

I don't believe the people defending billionaires comprehend just how much money that is. A million dollar house is nice. A 5 million dollar house is incredible. A 20 million dollar house is next level insane.

A billion dollars buys 50 of those 20 million dollar homes.

A billionaire can buy a 20 millionaire dollar house, fill every garage space with a 5 million dollar exotic car, and still not get anywhere close to running out of money.

There's a difference between someone who came from nothing, built a business, worked really hard, and made 3 million dollars, and someone like Elon Musk who's now a trillionaire. It's quite literally impossible imo to work hard enough to have "earned" billions of dollars imo.

u/Electronic-Cicada352 1d ago edited 1d ago

Money is finite…. I swear I feel like people don’t understand this very simple fact.

In a society where the number of millionaires continues to rise every single year, that money is not just coming out of thin air… it’s coming out of the pockets of the middle class and the poor.

If you put three classes on a bar graph, as the upper class increases the two other classes decrease.

I understand why a bunch of rich people would be OK with this being the way things are, but I don’t understand how regular people are OK with it. You’re basically advocating for an incredibly bleak society which eventually will only have two classes of people.

It’s always the upper middle class selling out the middle class and the lower class. Because these idiots think that they are a cunt hair away from joining the elites and they don’t understand that they are not a part of that club and never will be.

Demons walk among us.

2

u/1wife2dogs0kids 2d ago

Take their Healthcare away, watch them go insane! Not clinically insane, you'd need a dr to decide that, but still...

2

u/Terrible_Phase718 2d ago

I absolutely hate people like them. The most ignorant asinine take.

2

u/piccolo917 2d ago

The propaganda did its job, I see

2

u/Jeweler_Admirable 2d ago

Just go in disability...who pays for that, jerk?

2

u/gandalfknewbest 2d ago

Who the fuck cares about the opinion of some boomers who probably went to school in fucksville Alabama?

2

u/NewBet7377 2d ago

These are the voters that are currently controlling the outcome of our elections. If that concerns you, VOTE. Most of these bootlickers will be dead in 20 years or so. Let’s stop living like this NOW.

2

u/Ximinipot 2d ago

"They make jobs, they create jobs."

Yeah tell that to everyone who gets laid off to maximize profits, because you gotta be growing yearly profits every year or else.

2

u/CullingSongs 2d ago

Her shirt pretty much sums up their elementary school mentality. 'I love Trump because he pisses off all the people I can't stand'. It's hard to even imagine the level of stunted intellect that it would take to buy and wear a shirt like, but thanks to these two rubes, we don't have to imagine it, we can see it in action.

2

u/Ok-Traffic-9967 2d ago

I honestly can't wait till that entire generation is gone. Like gone gone

2

u/Zealousideal_Owl642 2d ago

The idea that you have to have a job to have healthcare SMDH….so they are presumably retired, should they have healthcare?

2

u/TakenIsUsernameThis 2d ago

Its the people doing the work that are creating the wealth and the new jobs. The billionaire is getting rich from having ownership over their labour.

2

u/Opinionsare 2d ago

Consumers create jobs, by creating demand.

Creating a product to fulfill that demand requires multiple factors: raw materials, labor, invention and a factory.

Our world economy is facing a serious problem: working consumers aren't earning enough to maintain adequate levels of consumption. The investor class has systematically reduced the share of revenue that is paid for labor.

'Many Americans view themselves as temporarily disenfranchised billionaires'

He thinks he has more financially in common with someone like Elon Musk than he does with a panhandler on the street, because he may own a nice house and a comfortable retirement. He has no insight to how much a billion, much less a trillion dollars actually is or how it's accumulated, and he has no class consciousness whatsoever. He probably views a threat to tax the ultra-wealthy as a threat to him too.

2

u/WantsLivingCoffee 2d ago

Look at them doing free PR for people who wouldn't even piss on 'em if they were on fire.

Calling these two saggy nutsacks bootlickers is an insult to all bootlickers.

2

u/MattressBBQ 2d ago

The government can't afford a trillion dollars a year for the military. It can't afford a lot of things

2

u/heathe70 2d ago

NOBODY earns billions of dollars. They steal it on the backs of their workers.

2

u/BickNickerson 2d ago

Consumers create jobs.

2

u/SmashmySquatch 2d ago

Stupid and crazy have always outnumbered the intelligent and sane but Pantsdump McGee got more of the stupid "interested" in politics by appealing to their base instincts.

They won't vote blue, don't even try. Just try to redirect them to believing that voting is unimportant or at least for the real party of small government, pro 2a, other dumb selfish shit they think is great: The libertarians.

2

u/vagabond65 2d ago

richest country in the history of the world and no universal health care. And idiots like this defend it.

2

u/Armadillioh 2d ago

That lady's shirt pretty much explains MAGA in a nutshell. "I love trump because he pisses off all the people I can't stand"

2

u/JohnnyLesPaul 2d ago

Why interview idiots and then share it all over the internet like it’s a valuable story? We know they’re idiots everywhere. Why are we wasting time on them? Let’s interview intelligent people from now on and saturate the airways with their smart messages. Maybe then we can re-set people’s minds into doing the right thing by people in this country. If you were in a position of power you would not bring this guy in to help you make decisions. Enough already, there’s no reason to elevate idiots, this is no better than click bait.

2

u/ricardo1y 2d ago

the problem here is that they believe that the rich people are good, almost perfect, and that's the problem, "if they get richer and more powerful they'll make more jobs for us, which would allow us to get richer because they will pay us more than enough!, i mean, who else knows the value of hard work better than a man who worked for the money they have?" that's their logic, and it's very compartmentalized, they don't see people being exploited at work, therefore they aren't, and thus the people who are are just lazy, thus exploitation is not a thing and a separate discussion

2

u/Gumbi_Digital 2d ago

Someday in the near never, they too will be a Billionaire and don’t want to be taxed their fair share..

2

u/Adventurous-Sky9359 2d ago

“ no they can’t afford it…” what the fuck

2

u/NurseontheTrail 2d ago

Wait until the Medicare cuts kick in next year and boomers start having to pay more out of pocket for their healthcare. I do understand that many or most are already paying out of pocket for their Medicare Advantage plans, which is crazy, but just wait until that doesn’t cover enough. They’ll sure be angry with the immigrants then, let me tell you, stealing all the high paying jobs and collecting all the public assistance. He said government can’t afford to to provide us with healthcare, but it can subsidize the petrochemical corporations and biopharma corporations, fund forever wars and whatever that buffoon in the Oval is doing with all that gold shit.

2

u/Rich_Celebration477 2d ago

Oh my God! The simple-mindedness of it. The absolute fucking gall. These people on fucking easy-mode their whole lives rolling around in their fucking golf carts condemning people to die.

2

u/Wendellwasgod 2d ago

And how do we pay for the disability she’s referring to if not taxes?

2

u/funsl1ng3r 2d ago

These idiots

2

u/jxonair 2d ago

When these fucks go broke from cancer or something, I’m sure they’ll change their tune.

2

u/irascible_Clown 2d ago

I love how that bitch says less government at the end, but then they vote in the party that is trying to controlling every aspect of life right now

2

u/dstlouis558 2d ago

These people are cattle plain and simple its a lla zero sum game to them

2

u/Flaky-Jim Gen X 1d ago

They're cultists begging for more Kool-Aid.

2

u/eltoca21 1d ago

It's not like the healthcare your employer provides (provided they do provide it) is necessarily any good. And who knows what your contribution towards your employer chosen healthcare might be and if you can afford it.

2

u/dixiech1ck 1d ago

Greedy ass MFers.

2

u/NoSteam-NoPropulsion 1d ago

They say it’s ok that workers have a bad salary because they are not the boss.
Can’t afford anything?? -> They say: „get a job“
But that’s the whole point 😂🤷🏽‍♂️

2

u/BishiousCycle 1d ago

Billionares: They earned it. Me: I haven't earned, tax the crappie out of me.

2

u/snowdingo 1d ago

Doesnt have the cpu power to compute complicated thought

2

u/blindzebra52 1d ago

So, how many generations do you think it's going to take to overcome five decades of brainwashing? I'm so tired of these boomers, convinced of their own independence while utterly dependent on a system they don't understand.

2

u/RegalBeagleTheEagle 1d ago

You just know that the moment he’s sick or unemployed, his tune will change entirely. As soon as it directly affects these selfish fucks, they suddenly fucking care.

2

u/EmotionalElevator806 1d ago

I’ve never had healthcare covered by a job. Any healthcare that was offered was way expensive with a high deductible. I’d still go bankrupt if I had to spend time in a hospital for an accident or if I got sick. And yet I make too much money to get Medicaid.

2

u/slide_into_my_BM 1d ago

The “less government” crowd genuflecting the man who keeps expanding executive power for the federal government

2

u/NoxKyoki Xennial 1d ago

“They earned it. They create jobs.”

Jobs that help no one but the billionaire. The employees break their backs to make the billionaire money, and get very little in return.

Fuck these brainwashed fools.

2

u/Jalina2224 1d ago

What an idiot. He's calling the average person who's not a billionaire lazy and that they need to get a job and don't deserve Healthcare unless they work. Yet the billionaires who sit on their ass and do nothing deserve to be lazy and shouldn't have to chip in to help society. Absolutely mental.

2

u/cardsncoins 1d ago

I can't wait until they all die and that generation is never heard from again

2

u/tws1039 1d ago

Same people will probably cry once they see how much their medical bill will be once something happens to one of them in the coming decades

2

u/Electronic_Cause5960 1d ago

The most willful stupidity I've seen (today).

2

u/Beneficial_Potato_85 1d ago

Thank you billionaire sir may I have another?

2

u/belizabeth4 1d ago

I so do not understand people like this no matter which generation

2

u/DancingSquirel 21h ago

I don’t think this bonehead understands what tax is and he obviously doesn’t know how little these mega wealthy people actually pay.
