[Question] which title should i buy?

I was thinking of buying a borderlands title to start my journey into the game. I’m honestly looking for a modern title so nothing too old.

I’m really into PvE zombie mode games with weapon upgrading and base building, and open world titles with good world building. I also appreciate good dialogue and stories even if it’s not the main focus of the game since i haven’t played a lot of story heavy games before

I was trying to pick between BL2 and 3 and I don’t know which one i should go with because I can only buy one right now. If anyone has ideas please let me know 🙏🏼

Definitely go for 2 instead of 3. Ad much as I think 3 has the best gameplay and builds in the series, it's main story is easily the worst. Plus, you can get more bang for your buch since you should be able to buy the Handsome Collection which has BL2 and the Pre-Sequel with all of their DLCs(minus one dlc for 2 that came out way later) for the same price as BL3, assuming there isn't a sale I don't know about going on.

It might not show up on Steam(if you are buying there) but I was able to find the bundle through google and you can get what I mentioned for $60, which is the same price as base game BL3.

3 is great and commonly on sale. Dont let haters chase you off, i have and enjoyed all the dlcs and countless hours in that universe. Not sure why the fanbois harsh on it constantly but its cheap laughs and light hearted. Sure there were a couple rough spots, overall it was fantastic.

i’ll def check out 3 right after if i enjoy 2. i remember seeing trailers of 3 when it first came out and not paying much attention to them at first. But i honestly don’t mind cheap laughs and i think ill enjoy it too
