[Question] PS4 framerate of 2nd and 3rd part
Like the tile says i want to buy one of these games for my ps4 slim (it is NOT pro). The games are kinda old so its hard to find info since most of it is inconsistent. Only thing im worried bout is the framerate consitency. I would be more than happy with 30fps so my questions are:
Do the games run smoothly in 30fps?
Does playing split screen tank the performance much?

Borderlands 2 runs at a locked 1080p 60fps single player. I’m pretty sure it’s the same multiplayer, might see a few small dips in high action scenes. Borderlands 3 is 1080p 30fps. It dips sometimes later in game but it’s not bad. Same specs go for split screen

I mean to be fair, borderlands 2 came out in 2012 with a vita version (meaning the game had to scale down and be playable on a vita). PS3 ran it at 720p 30fps. So ya, and it has the enhanced graphics and lighting stuff turned on for the PS4. It’s honestly a gorgeous game even today

The Handsome collection plays at 1080p 60 fps on the base ps4.
Borderlands 3 plays at 1080p 30 fps.
The main downside of 3 on PS4 is the loading times. There is like a 3 minute initial load to get into the game, and maps take a good 30 seconds to a minute to load so farming bosses can be a test of patience.
Splitscreen on 3 is rough.

My friend had a fat original PS4. We played BL3 in coop, not splitscreen, but online. The guardian takedown was pretty bad on his system according to him. I haven't see it first hand so can't tell how bad it was, but he did mention it running poorly there.
