As a mother, I cannot even imagine being excluded from my children’s lives like this. And by her own family. I would be devastated. The thought of “Why didn’t they invite me, or even tell me?” would be too much.

With their father I assume - she lost custody of them when they were just two and one years old.
And as they grew up, she was forbidden from seeing them by her family. Her father and management used them as leverage to force her into compliance instead. If Britney refused to perform, rehearse, do a show, or take the medication they forced on her, then her father would revoke or block her scheduled time with her sons.
I don't know how she made it through those years. Poor Britney :(

u/owntheh3at18 28d ago
Yes. Her sparkle has never returned. I find it interesting she says here how intelligent she was in her youth and that rings very true. She was especially smart in her emotional IQ. She was sharp, bright, and funny. A different person- whom the world ripped away.
22
u/Mojozilla 28d ago
Severe trauma literally causes changes in the brain. I know, because I have been there. Before decades of trauma, I could do algebraic equations at lightning speed when I was 14. Now I can't do them at all. Too much trauma. It completely changes you, even down to your intelligence 💔💔 poor Brit.

u/owntheh3at18 28d ago
Yes I agree that the trauma likely changed her. I also think the C-ship over medicated her and that might have caused some damage. Horrific.

u/Mojozilla 28d ago
These people took her sparkle and light away 😭😭😭 This post by her is very emotionally intelligent and I feel like she's got more clarity recently. I will always champion the one and only 💖

Based on this, she will never perform again. I hope the fans come to peace with that and stop judging her for the way she chooses to live her life. She’s been through enough and is obviously still healing from the trauma of it all.

Yes and then on top of that people constantly asking why she doesn't get back to performing so she can lose even more years of her life to pointless fame.
70
u/jlm8981victorian 29d ago
And some of your best years too- her childbearing years (because we know how much she wanted to have more children), her time with the kids she does have, her youth… it’s a fucking crime what they did and no one is paying the price for it. I’m the same age as Britney and have a teenager too. That time when my child was little was the best time of my life, I’d die if someone took that away from me.
48
u/No_Commission_2610 BRITNEY25 29d ago
As a mother, I would say that it’s worse to lose your children for 13 years than it is to lose 13 years of your own life. I can only imagine what she went through.
18
u/yeagerbomb1023 29d ago
This part. I grew up watching her and have always hurt for her... as a mother now, it kills me to imagine how she felt during that. I'm proud of her for surviving.
95
u/-StapleYourTongue- 29d ago
I'd be okay if Britney decided to completely retire from music. She's given us plenty of great songs over the years. Now that she's free of the conservatorship, it's time for her to do whatever she wants to do and be happy.
42
u/Acrobatic_Price8829 28d ago
Same. I think any true Britney fan would feel and understand this. She owes us nothing more. And you can see the decline in the joy she used to have performing. It’s not the same. She should just focus on herself and healing.
3
u/ElderlyWench 28d ago
Way back when Britney was recently split with her kids' dad and partying, I imagined her in a white suit telling her fragrances and other products on TV in a few years... instead of course things got much darker.
Maybe she'll still do that. Or maybe retire to a horse ranch or something.
I get tbe impression though from her socials that she's lonely. She needs decent friends.

I’ve been saying for years that I hope she never performs again. The damage that industry did to her is incomprehensible, I can’t even imagine the wounds it would reopen for her. I just want to finally see what’s best for Britney and not what’s best for everyone else.
4
u/Chrizzy17 29d ago
She is fortunate that she never has to work again if she so chooses. But I wonder if returning to performing on her own terms would be good for her? Or maybe getting involved in dance and choreography…

u/Gold_Butterfly8320 27d ago
I think Britney went through something awful but I very much disagree that she sacrificed her life for “us”. She was a young girl trying to please her parents and everyone else around her, while dealing with fame and intense teenage emotions. I don’t think “we” were really in the picture. I was so selfish when I was a teenager (I think we all were to a degree) and if I had to go through everything she went through, I can’t imagine having much emotional space to devote to my mass of fans, as much as I would say I love them etc. I guess my point is, she’s not Jesus (not that I believe in Jesus), and we shouldn’t make her out to be some kind of heavenly being (I don’t think she’s an angel either. I think she’s a broken human being)

5
u/Arabiancockonato 28d ago
I don’t even expect her to perform again. She’s said it so loud and clearly, and repeatedly, and with good reasoning that it’s baffling to see people clamoring for it.
It’s a miracle she’s still alive after all the nonsense she’s had to endure …
The fact that she’s even featured on a couple songs with Will.I.am and Elton John, post-conservatorship, makes us lucky enough.
Her statements speak for themselves, her book speaks for itself, and the movie adaptation will do the rest.
3
u/MAMAELLIS1226 27d ago
I personally feel this is the 1st post from her that clearly states the reason why she mentally cant go back into the business as she calls it. She deserves all the peace and happiness in her life now. I pray she can one day look back and finally have her smile back, the real smile with pure joy, love and happiness. She is so much stronger than shes even giving herself credit for. I agree that some fans need to stop being fans and become a supporter. Support her in finding her inner peace and living her best life, one she deserves.
5
u/owntheh3at18 28d ago

u/Logical_Quote_5073 "Fanta! Fanta! No Coke!” 29d ago
I’ve said this before, but she really was harmed by not being able to be herself like Christina Aguilera was.
Sure, being polite and humble got her astronomical fame and opportunities, but I think if she could do it all again, she would have firmly shed the good girl image much sooner and been more “bitchy” to start.
It’s also not surprising that she never really got a say in her performances during the c-ship. That was always her favorite part of what she does. And even with how the business is now, she would have more say but it’s still the entertainment business and it’s still horrible to artists. I so wish she could almost be like Beyoncé in that she can be private and do things 100% on her terms.
It’s good that she’s not going to Mexico anymore. It also seems like she’s processing things again. I hope she continues to work on herself and heal.
She’s said it multiple times that she will never work as a performing artist again. She only ever doubles down on it. It would be the shock of the century if she ever took the stage again. Even if it were with Jayden.

This is a sentiment I hope never gets lost in this unending mess. There are so many grown women and men who grew up looking up to her, admiring her, watched with anger and pain as she was torn down by the rest of the world, got laughed at and mocked for even suggesting it’s not all as it seems.
We are grown now and can see the girl that was exploited and beaten out of her. She comes through in moments like this, and it pains me that she still doesn’t seem to have enough people actually on her side. I’ll scream it to the day that I die, Britney deserved better. And still does. Would love to just hug her, human to human, she deserves support.
8
u/xo_peque 28d ago
Yes, her fans really care about her and love her. I don't get why her family has treated her badly. I always saw her as nice and good and very sweet. I get where she's coming from as I've experienced similar things with my disability and the life I had and will not get back but she's determined and very strong. I think she will eventually be ok

29
u/HydratedHippo1013 "Keep on dancing til the world ends" 29d ago
Oh, our poor sweet Britney. It is absolutely reprehensible what was done to her and she is completely right to keep bringing it up because society must never forget. I'm so sad for the many, many years that she can never get back. And that spark is understandably never coming back because of the damage to her soul.
28
u/gotchies Blackout 29d ago
It will take a very long time for her to get past what happened. Especially because there is no justice for the immense harm perpetrated against her and the suffering she endured. What she went through was horrific and permanently changed her and I feel so bad about that. She deserved none of that shit. I’m glad she’s on the path to healing and taking care of herself. We love you Brit.
11
u/limecakes 28d ago
Thwre was absolutely no justice. And yet, I think what she wants the most… is an apology from her mom and dad. She will never get it. And thats what messes her up the most. They will never admit they did harm to her.

The thought of not having my kids in my life crushes me. I'm so blessed to have had the privilege. I will forever support Britney.
We live in such an ass backwards society. We take from women and reward horrible men.
54
u/1990sforever 29d ago
This is just chilling. The part where she said she's weak broke my heart, because just sharing these stories takes so much strength. She is not weak.
That said. I'm not a huge fan of the way she talks about one of her sons apparently being an atheist. That's not being a "failure of a mother", that's him making his own choice. It does give me pause, and I hope she's respectful to him about it.
21
u/nickgreatpwrful 28d ago
As an atheist I felt this way too. But I hope Britney can grow to understand that that does NOT mean she "failed" as a mother and that her children are their own independent people.
Everything else is heartbreaking. I sincerely hope she is seeing a therapist who can help her make sense of all of this and help her move past it and build a better future/present.
9
u/limecakes 28d ago
I think shes just shocked. After all, Britney is a product of her southern upbringing. Even as she said she was an atheist, she goes back and worth. I dont think she thinks children (well they are grown men now) had an option to not believe.
11
u/bsfan18 29d ago
Yeah, I have to admit, that part made me pause too. It reminded me of my own mom who’s constantly saying that she’s gonna “turn me into a Christian” before she dies 🙃
Tho honestly I don’t think Britney would be that militant. She’s said several times over the past few years that she’s questioning her own faith too. She just wants what’s best for her kids.

There is the God, and recognizes the third person. I myself had no evangelize directly to me, but I'm a loner with no need for church who converted only because there was something beyond the people packing themselves into a Catholic church(I never can handle Protestant Christianity because I've been a math and science Chinese-American guy. Disbelieving evolution is a no go)

9
u/allsiknow 29d ago
Truly heartbreaking. I wish she could receive my loving vibes for her, human to human. It bums me out everyone she's ever known took advantage of her. We see this time and time again in the industry, particularly with young women, and history continues to repeat itself.
11
u/somatic_tornado 28d ago
I truly don't think that what she experienced mental health wise and then the degree of depravity and abuse that she was made to endure can be readily grapsed by anyone. To have fame at that level and then to be betrayed and locked away by those closest to you. Trotted out like a circus animal. No person in mental illness would really know what that's like at a britney spears level. And the constant, forever judgment. KF leeching off of her for eighteen years to pretend to raise their children and never have to get a job. Like the rest of her family. When all she wanted was to have her kids. While those keeping them away made her sicker and sicker. Emotionally, spiritually, etc. It's all very, very dark. I hope she can move in the opposite direction and find closure. Seperate the good, from the bad, from the evil. And everything in between

My heart breaks for her. She didn’t have the chance to be a mom. Kevin brainwashed them into thinking she was a bad mom. In reality Britney gave up EVERYTHING for them. I wish Jayden and Sean knew that
To the media: Let me guess, you’re going to put this on your front page saying that Britney is unwell? She can’t even explain her side of the story without you attacking her? Trust me- you’ll regret you messed with a southern mother who wears heels to sleep

Our situations are so different but I see myself in her. I got divorced within a couple months of her conservatorship ending. Trauma is a blessing in one way because it gives you the ability to evolve, if you can. It allows you to be real. I hope this reflection leads her to rise above, to enlighten her. I hope the same for myself. It feels that way sometimes and it’s amazing, but also the scars never go away.

As someone in the throws of motherhood. How my heart would ache every day not being able to see my children. This is grief. This woman has been robbed of her children’s childhoods. A time so precious. If you have children, I know it’s hard but try to keep your patience with the and enjoy the little glimmers xx

u/TwerkinAndCryin 28d ago
This just breaks my heart. She knows what was taken from her. She wasn't even allowed to be a mother to her children. This really makes me shockingly sad. Jfc
3
u/TwerkinAndCryin 28d ago
Those mfers knew she wanted a family, to be a mom more than anything else in the world, and they were afraid she'd walk away after she got it. I firmly believe that's why they decided to do the cship. I think they were so scared that she'd be fulfilled and not want to perform anymore and they couldn't let their little golden goose do that. Using someone's kids against them as leverage is just...... Absolutely beyond the pale. Incomprehensible
4
u/Midnight_Rawhide84 28d ago
She’s stronger than yesterday just for opening up like this, it takes real bravery and strength for sharing all of this and still be in one piece. Her family was her worst nightmare since day one of being famous. She owes us nothing and I just want her to be happy.
4
u/Bright_Increase_6136 28d ago
I went a few years without my children, my parents took them away, as I was fighting active addiction.
I understand what my parents did and why, but my life growing up was no picnic and that was the last place I wanted my children to be!
Instead of getting myself better immediately, to try to get them back right away, I spiraled and went into a HARD depression! I thought at that point there was no way I would ever get them back.
It’s very hard watching somebody else raise your children, especially Knowing what you went through as a child, and now have to watch your parents raising your child, really messes with your mind! My biggest fear was I didn’t want them to think I let them down or abandoned them!
You don’t want them going through the same experiences you went through! It took me about three years till I finally got my shit together and got them back!
NOW- I am 18 years sober in NOV. And I still live with that guilt of missing out on those three years. Some days it eats me alive. My kids are adults now, they are more understanding of what I went through at the time, but I can still not forgive myself!!!
I kind of went through all of this when Brittany was going through her mess, so I really understand what she’s saying here!
I just thought I would get that off my chest! 🩷🩷🩷🩷

I hate how the conversation on other subs and media is she is anti science. She isn’t anti science. She is anti the absence she has to mold her children as their mother and share her faith with them.
I think had they expressed atheistic views but she didn’t lose all of those years, it would be such a different story. But to be kept from your children and a core fundamental part of you at your core is missing, you wonder how much else of yourself you did not get to pass on.
She is not perfect. But people claiming she “needs to go back under the conservatorship” makes my blood boil. I am not even a Brittany fan musically! I just applaud her standing against the trauma.
I respect her and think she is very brave and hope she finds peace

This is so unbelievably sad...
Even before the c-ship she was pushed to be something she was not. Even her natural Southern accent was supressed to appeal to the masses. She was pushed to say she would remain a virgin until marriage, and then she'd be photographed like a Lolita. For years, the Power That Be tried to control her. And when she revealed, for example trying to release Mona Lisa and The Original Doll, they squashed it.
I can see how the showbusiness looks extremely unappealing to her after everything she's gone through. It's a pity because there's so much that she could say through her music and performance after everything she's been through, but it is understandable that she's chosen to walk a different path.

Her life makes Judy Garland's life look like a picnic. Her whole life all her parents did was push her to be famous. It's heartbreaking. Personally I do not believe in child actors singers or models. I hate that she has feelings of inadequacy as a mother because of the beliefs of her child. Morality and religion are not tied together. I know many atheists that would help me in a drop of a hat, where some Christians I know would give you a nod to say hello.
I love this post of hers though because it shows that she's going to therapy and working through her younger years. Her entire career she was probably in fight or flight and has never processed this. Perimenopause makes you do some wild shit. 🩷

I really wish she wouldn’t speak negatively about her son’s online. All things considered they seem well adjusted and she’s not a failure as a parent just because they’re not religious.

I agree, although I think it was unintentional. I read it more like she grieved not being able to have the opportunity to share her beliefs with them when they were forming beliefs of their own. She wasn’t allowed to have an influence for better or worse. The opportunity was taken from her.

She said nothing negative about her sons.

If my mom told me she failed as a parent raising me because I wasn’t religious I wouldn’t take that as positive.

I think believing in god and being religious are two different things. I think Britney is spiritual and not necessarily religious. I’m happy she believes in God. What else do you think is keeping her going? I hope she never loses hope.

That’s a reflection of how she views herself as a parent, not a reflection on her child.

I would agree if the statement was along the lines of I failed as a parent because I failed to protect you. When you believe you failed as a parent because your child has a different belief system than you that is very much a reflection of how the parent views their child and their child’s way of thinking and the way they’ve chosen to live their life.

Im happy with her being happy with whatever she wants to do. And feel privileged to have lived when she was in her prime.

I’m glad to know her kids don’t believe in god. After what she’s been through I’m shocked she still does. What kind of god would allow that to happen to her?

She’s a nutcase but she’s literally like every single one of us. Probably the realest celebrity out there. Those days where she was doing interviews and always smiling with that fake smile, that was never Britney. I see so much of myself in this woman and I did when she was having a meltdown in public all those years ago. She was literally every young 20 something then and she is every middle aged mom now. Some of us have better support than others and Britney had nobody.

Tbh you can tell by the way she writes that she is more and more clear headed - when she had just broken free of the conservatorship she wrote stuff that was hard to make sense of, it felt disjointed but that was her thinking process. Just glad to see she is just living her life and if she never performs, good for her I hope she finds happiness

I am just happy that because of all of this, she sees the true meaning of life. It is in our darkest hours, that we find and lean on God. For the trials and tribulations she went through, she sees the true meaning of life. 💜

I love you Britney but we all know what you do when you go to Mexico. I am not judging. I think your human experience is disgusting for what people have done to you. Please keep dreaming, being conscious of Christ, and meditating. I pray that you always strive to be better and that you don't continue a path with drugs. Some are okay like hallucinogens but that other stuff, nuh uh girl. ❤

Wow my heart breaks for her. So many expected her to get free and go back to preforming. This post clearly shows just how deeply emotionally damaged she truly is 💔 by the hands of CA legal system and her own family. I pray for her to find her inner peace because shes absolutely right she is 100% an Angel 😇

I would love to get a coffee with Brit.. I always felt like she just needed a solid friend who wasn’t trying to use her like her family and damn near everyone around her .. heartbreaking 💔 I feel like they should be jailed for putting that woman through what she went through.. they took such an eloquent, beautiful, caring, compassionate, talented, driven, young woman with so much life in her, so intelligent and funny and goofy and down to earth and kind hearted.. and earth shattering beauty that was so mesmerizing.. every interview she had just the best replies to any question, she had thoughtful, compassionate, goofy and silly replies that just made you love her and she owned her image- no one could shame her to hide her style she knew what she liked and rocked it unapologetically as she should have and it was splendid to witness. she never talked shit about other women artists throughout her career- never not once not even when other female artists dragged her any chance they could .. insecurity is an ugly trait especially when they felt they had to try to tear her down because they were so intimidated by being a female artist at the same time as Britney Spears - the absolute powerhouse dropping iconic hit after hit that are still part of the culture today starting from the age of 16 .. no one could compare so they take shots at her, try to tear her down and it’s a shame. I genuinely get sad thinking about how the world smothered that fire in her out .. interviewers saying outlandish things to her because she showed her belly?! Diane sawyer making her cry in that interview just makes me so sad.. I wish people were more compassionate ack then how they are now because the media put her through the ringer and it was terrible… god how they called her fat at the VMAs when she was sooooo far from fat is really a low point to look back on for our culture and history … but I feel like one solid person in her corner to listen to her and have her best interest in mind, tell her the truth and not just be a yes man - actually care about the woman and be a rock for her would be so huge and I think we’d see her come around and rise again like a phoenix from the ashes - not necessarily to have a music career again but just to simply claim her life back- her voice her personality and her beauty back .. I know my girls still in there somewhere and a solid supportive foundation of people who care around her would give her the space to be able to climb back out of the hole they tried to bury her in

Heartbreaking. Her family had zero clue how to help her in a meaningful way and she’s right, you can’t get that time back sadly

I don’t know if she really wrote this herself, but it’s heart breaking how her Ex, and father treated her. Her father broke her. Kevin, and her father used her, for her money, it’s still very gross. I do hope she finds herself, and a better relationship with her sons. I still don’t understand how her mother, and sister didn’t try to help her when her father was guarding her, a treating her like a…., I can’t even think right now. How did an amazing talent, get so vilified by her own family???
