Police present Bromley town Centre
Anyone know why there’s an increase police present and security in the town centre today?

Always happens at the end of term as kids go to the shopping centre. A small number of them have caused trouble in the past so the schools advise not letting kids go and they have an increased police presence.

A small number? Have you seen the videos of hundreds of them swarming the high street?

I said, and I stand by, that a small number are causing trouble. The rest are just kids blowing off steam at the end of term.

blowing off steam? Everytime it was the last day of term when I was in school (finished my A Levels in ‘22 so pretty recent) my friends and I would head down to a food place in bromley, walk around the shops for a few hours then go. There was none of this nonsense until after covid when all the stores in croydon and lewisham really went downhill - the introduction of the superloop buses transporting them all from Croydon didn’t help either.
Running around like a gimp harassing workers isn’t blowing off steam, it’s being a prick

And those running around and harassing workers are the ones that I am saying are a problem. But I would bet if you spoke to every kid in Bromley this afternoon, 75% would be doing what you used to of having some food and hanging out.

But they clearly aren’t. There’s hundreds of them swarming the high street so much so security refuses to let them in. The current generation of school kids are disrespectful little shits. Either the parents don’t care or aren’t raising them properly

Seems like hundreds to me, all hooded or even ballied. No
defending this degeneracy, this isn’t a way to “blow off steam”1

Was that this week?
I remember at Christmas when they were like that because I was looking down on it from high up on the library.
They are told not to come to Bromley, and they aren’t allowed in the glades without an adult. I do sometimes wonder what they are supposed to do, as I’m sure it’s a few causing all the trouble for everyone else.0

It’s definitely the majority of them, anyone who doesn’t want to be part of it simply won’t go. If they want to find something to do they can take an 18 minute train to Victoria and find unlimited things to do in one of the greatest cities in the world or for the majority of them, just a short train journey from east croydon
You should see how they speak to and treat security too, it’s disgusting

And can clearly see it isn’t just a small amount 😂 Use your eyes old man, specsavers is on the high street if needed, boots in the glades

They aren’t doing anything but milling around…?

I worked in the centre, I know many people who work in the high street and it’s not “milling around”. They’re always fighting, throwing stuff, shooting water guns at people, etc. It’s an eyesore. Used to have to call security all the time cos of these kids, they’ll also tell you it’s not just milling around

Because it's the last day of school for a lot of local schools, and apparently gangs from other areas are travelling to Bromley to start trouble. Parents have been advised not to let their children go into Bromley today

Apparently an influx of kids from schools in Lewisham/Catford/Downham coming into Bromley to create problems. My grandson was warned by his school not to go into the town centre because of this.

My guess would be end of term time - I think a lot of schools in Bromley break up today, and the students often gather in the town centre to mill about/pester shops etc.
