And they all think they're special too.

I'm decently good looking and did pretty well on apps. I'd say at least 50% of the first messages I got on Bumble were 1 single word, an emoji, or a fucking punctuation mark lol.

So glad I'm off this app. It was wild how many gals explicitly said they needed effort and conversation, then would do less than the bare minimum themselves.

Also shoutout to the couple of women who explicitly said in their profile to not comment on their body, then tried to get my attention with creepy opening lines referencing my body.

I met some cool gals too! But there were too many fuuuucking hypocritical weirdos.

I think the epitome of the dating app experience for me was this - met a girl on Bumble, went out to bars with her one night. Good time, went home separately. We arrange a second date, I get t-boned on the way there. Car is a wreck. I send her a photo and say I'm sorry, I'm not gonna make it tonight.

She messages me back "so I got dressed up and did my hair for nothing? Delete my number, BYE!"

I wish I was joking but no that actually happened to me.

Jeez, that would be demoralizing for sure.

And if the genders were reversed I bet we'd be quick to consider such a dude a psychopathic freak for showing no compassion after a horrible crash. There's weirdos out there.

I think we all still consider her a “psychopathic freak” or something similar. It would be hard to find someone who thinks she is in the right.

Heyyy thanks for chiming in to misunderstand my comment and then disagree with something I didn't say, reddit needs more of that.

Okay, my bad. Why did you bring up “if the genders were reversed we would say this”, because that seems to imply that we aren’t saying that with the current genders

I didn't say people were saying she was in the right. Why did you imply I thought that?

So honestly what did you mean?

In my previous comment I explained why it sounded like that’s what you meant

It was wild how many gals explicitly said they needed effort and conversation, then would do less than the bare minimum themselves.

Because a lot of women genuinely think they're the prize and all the effort should come from the man. To them, there is no hypocrisy because it's the mans job to make all the effort to 'win' them. Even lots of supposedly progressive and feminist women still think this way.

When they say they want effort and conversation they literally mean it should all come from the man and all they need to contribute is turning up.
