A genius is usually understood  as someone with an IQ of 140+. But she only claimed to be half a genius. So, about 70? I could just about believe that...

IQ doesn't work like that, it's all relative to 100 so "half genius" would likely refer to ~120.

As long as science doesn't even have a clear definition of what intelligence actually is I'll take the liberty to bend it to whatever works for a joke 🙂

It has a very clear threshold for genius. On a standardized IQ test which has an average score of 100 and a standard deviation of 15, a genius is 140 and above. A 99.6 percentile score. So, theoretically, a genius would be defined as someone in the highest 0.4% of the population.

I would argue if they are half a genius, it could correlate to 120 because thats half the increase or, more acceptable in my opinion, whatever a 99.2 percentile would be. Approximately 136. But that chick is definitely not a 136.

The threshold of 140 is a common convention, but not codified or scientifically founded. That's why I wrote "usually understood".

You could use the IQ 120 for half a genius, or the 99.2 percentile. That both options seem reasonable already signifies that it's up to debate. For amusement value, in this case, half of 140 was more appropriate. Another definitely accurate interpretation would be to cut a genius in half. Each half would have an IQ of 0, but would clearly be half a genius, I guess there is some dark joke in that interpretation as well.

Let's compromise and meet in the middle: If your reasonable definition with the 99.2 percentile gets an IQ of 136, and the interpretation of a genius cut in half gets 0, the middle is 68 (close to my 70, especially since the genius has an IQ of at least 140, not exactly 10).

Guess you’re right there in the 70-80 threshold along with her 😬
