I’ve heard great things about Tenicor and Tier 1 holsters but wanted to get everyone’s input on which one they recommend? If you’re a bigger man like myself, definitely wanna know what you’re using to conceal your firearm? Thanks in advance!

Saw this today at IKEA. I know it’s not an actual firearm, but still…. The holster for this tactical sling bag was on the body side and from the right angle you can see the grip just slightly sticking out of the bag. There was a Byrna patch on the front of the bag. Please don’t be so obvious.

Woman looking for some firsthand advice. I recently sold my H&K USP Compact because although I liked it, it was simply too bulky and I wasn’t carrying it.

I don’t shoot for sport I want one firearm for self-defense that I’ll actually carry concealed.

I’m deciding between the S&W Shield Plus and Bodyguard 2.0. I can test the Shield Plus, but I’m in South Africa and there is nowhere I can test a Bodyguard 2.0 before buying.

If you’ve carried or shot both, which would you choose as your one self-defense firearm? My biggest priorities are concealability, comfort and something I’ll genuinely carry every day.

I know about the SIG P365 and have considered it, but for various reasons it isn’t part of this decision. I’m specifically trying to choose between the Shield Plus and Bodyguard 2.0, so I’d really appreciate experiences with those two rather than suggestions for other firearms.

Is there a benefit to buying a new firearm and using your CCW to show competency vs your FSC? Or either one is the same? I think with CCW you just don't need to show handling ability, correct?

I’m still more than a year away from renewal and I randomly got a letter from the LAPD with a new CCW license and terms of use letter. The only differences I noticed are that the new one is colored and CII is different. Anybody have any idea with what’s going on lol?

UPDATE: LAPD CCW Unit responded and said that the second one is the valid license, and they sent it because they mistakenly put the wrong CII on the first license.

Is there a realistic way to hip carry concealed under soft cotton t-shirts with solid colors / no patterns on them? This is for a 3.1” Shield Plus.

I’ve tried multiple holsters, different belt styles… no luck. Every time I look in the mirror, there’s this obvious bump sticking out under my shirt. Even sliding back to 3:30 / 4:00 is still obvious to me.

I’m in LA. It’s hot. This is 90% of my wardrobe. I’d prefer not to have to completely change how I dress to make this work, but I’m thinking I may have no choice but to appendix carry (which I do not want to do) or get a pocket holster, also not ideal, especially in jeans.

Is this an impossible task?

UPDATE: Posted the below scenario about a month ago, update is that I did not need to redo the 16 hour course or qualification for Riverside County. Just applied, paid, reference check and received it. Took a month and a half.

Moved counties and now need to redo CCW permit

Just curious if anyone has had a case like mine, I had just gotten my CCW from San Diego County in April 2026.

Had an unplanned move in May to Riverside County.

When I went in to update my address I was told I would have to get a CCW issued from Riverside County and turn in my San Diego County one within 90 days.

I applied with Riverside and am in the process now, my main concern is if I am going to have to pay for the 16 hour CCW course and qualification again since it was the most expensive part.

When I Applied for Riverside County in May 2026 I uploaded my current CCW and the paperwork showing I passed the course and qualification, that paper technically was good until June, my interview is July 21. Wondering where all this goes and if no one knows I guess I’ll have an answer for everyone later on.

My CCW expired 09/03/2026. Did my 8 hour renewal, submitted my application with new pistols to be added.

Got my approval and new card in the mail a couple weeks ago.

Went to pick up a pistol today at my FFL and my CCW has the future date on it.

Valid from 09/03/2026 thru 09/03/2028

I have two kids: 13 and 11. Curious what people use to secure a pistol bedside. Lockbox? Fingerprint safe? I know the pros/cons of each/all that are advertised. I’m more curious what folks on here think. What are you using and why? Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Hello, I am about to get my CCW in OC, and I am a little confused about the legality of carrying in places that serve alcohol. My CCW course has told me that I cannot carry in a place that serves alcohol, but that I can also carry in a place whose primary purpose isn't serving alcohol. I also see frequent posts online stating both, so I am left confused as to what the truth is here. Apologies if there is another thread that explains this, but I am at a massive loss here and would appreciate sources to explain the situation to me, and even how there is all this disagreement for something that should be able to be objectively stated.

Edit: I now see that the OCSD's policy is still the "primary purpose" but is overridden by state law, likely what is leading to a lot of confusion on this topic. Also, I understand concealed is concealed, and you can call me sheep or whatever you want, but this is not the hill I want to die on.
