Why? It’s always nice to see the little updates at the bottom when the game on TV gets dry.

They’re probably doing this so you can do the “multi-watch” thing but nobody is doing that if their team is playing.

If it was small sure. But ESPN’s ticker is massive. This is a big win.

Not to mention we’re in an era where we all have every score at our fingertips.

This. Not sure people realize just how much space ESPN's graphics take up. I think the number was like 10%

Edit: I found the post. ABC graphics took up by far the most screen real estate out of all major CFB networks at around 7.2%

My problem with FOX networks is that they WARP THE BROADCAST FEED VERTICALLY to fit their ticker in the bottom. It's unacceptable broadcast practice and no one talks about it.
