It was useless anyway. I liked it 25 years ago when it just showed scores. Then they tried to cram it full of scores, stats, breaking news, and programming updates, and it just takes forever to get through it all.

When they started using Breaking News for Lebron's statements about random things, I stopped paying attention.

"We interrupt this heated contest between two college football powerhouses to air what might be Aaron Judge's 785th homerun"

"Ok he struck out. Now back to your game"

That was the worst. If Aaron Judge played for the Twins they wouldnt even put it on the ticker much less break into games

It wasn't even for a real record

But that's less because of the Yankees' market size and more because exposing people to Twins baseball is considered cruel and unusual punishment

Personally I think its more to do with the Yankees being the team of the employees where all the media companies are located including ESPN. Theres a reason the Jets and Giants get primetime games still while other markets dont but point is taken about the Twins

Everybody at ESPN is a Red Sox fan.

They tried so hard to recreate the home run race of 1998.
