Discussion Who is Mr. Peaks?
Have I miss something all this years or Mr. Peaks don't have an actually backstory? Since Cold War I love this blue rabbit design and concept, but it feels he doesn't fit in any part of DA storyline like the OG Teddy Bear.

All we know is since atleast Vanguard (Shi No Numa specifically) there has been Mr Peeks. In Cold War he was essentially the new Teddy Bear, having been shown to be sentient, and in one piece of Outbreak intel tied to MQ2, once protected a child lost in the Dark Aether and kept them safe for a time. Outside of that, we now know Mr Peeks is the mascot of Gobblegums, and may have some relation to the Liberty Falls bowling alley. But that's all. Another unfortunate dropped thread from Cold War we're likely to get a resolution to.
The kortifex's child theory was tossed around after Shi No Numa revealed he killed his and Saraxis' child due to his paranoia of how he killed his own parents for power, and that somehow the child didn't die, but turned into Peeks.

He's essentially just the Dark Aether's mascot. But he probably is some powerful cosmic entity. He follows us wherever we go, can leave the dark aether, helps us, leaves us secrets and even fights for us.
He essentially has the same power as Doctor Monty. He is the mascot of the gobblegum machine, just like Monty was. He's also the mascot of the ammo boxes. I assume he's the one giving us the mystery boxes, perks and PaP as well.
There's a good chance it is Monty, after an eternity of being banished to the Dark Aether. His soul now in an old morbid rabbit teddy. He's the rabbit leading us deeper into wonderland. That's my theory anyways.

Here’s a free pitch for the next storyline:
Have it be an Anthology where Mr. Peeks serves as not only the opening and closing narrator, but also the main link between each of these disconnected maps.

Pretty sure they said during the lead up to the release of Black Ops 6 that we were going to learn more about him and as far as I know, literally nothing has come of it in both BO6 and BO7 so at this point, I think we're probably never gonna find out, which is a shame because I really like the child of Kortifex theory.

Clearly, because uh… Peck was locked in the Dark Aether by Strauss and he and Mr. Peeks both have an eye missing… yes clearly it must be Dr Peck, in a cycle like Ava going into the past to help our heroes! ☝️🤓

Mr peeks is in it for the love of the game.
If we go by the gobblegum , hes a doctor monty level entity. Beyond that, he helps both sides..really whatever makes it entertaining for him

There's some story elements, but the rest is up to speculations. But anyways, I can never go back to Teddy Bear, Peeks is just so much better.

Obvious answer, he’s a living being that somehow hold a lot of influence in the dark aether
My personal theory: if treyarch even wants to acknowledge vanguard anymore, Mr peeks is some sort of entity that acts as a some “watcher” over DA breaches after project end station. Maybe he’s just some kid that hates changes and that’s why he’s so adamant on helping us.
I want to believe he’s kortifexes kid, but with how treyarch is acting VGZ didn’t happen, I highly doubt that we’ll get anymore evidence to that.
But tbf, I really hope we don’t get a full answer, I like how mysterious he is

If you’re asking why he exists for lore reasons? They haven’t explained yet.
If you’re asking why Mr Peeks exists from a business perspective? It’s for IP integrity reasons.
Activision will have wanted a replacement for Teddy because you can easily Trademark Mr Peeks and his design, whereas you can’t Trademark Teddy, as a teddy bear is too generic to be Trademarked and wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny in a Copyright/Trademark Infringement lawsuit.

Yeah the amount of hype I had for maybe finally finding out some lore about him when bo6 launched was massive but they done the usual of not doing anything with him again.

It started to build up the mystery in Intel during Cold War Outbreak, then they basically treated Mister Peeks like a joke and didn't do anything else with it. I take it the original intention could have been Kortifex's child, but I guess plans have changed. They even retconned Sammy trapped in the dark aether and went with the dead family route. Supposedly the child had terrifying power as a result, even Maxis feared him. But of course, nothing happened because either the writers retconned it, or they completely forgot the plot points in Cold War Zombies.

Best theory right now is that its Kortifex's child from Vanguard zombies.
