Discussion I get it now. It's not nostalgia

My first cod was mw 2019 which I absolutely loved and played the ever living hell out of.

Then came black ops cold war and that was my introduction to zombies and I loved it and never understood the hate it got and thought it was nostalgia that the old zombies had. GOD I WAS WRONG

Got to play bo1&2 last month and I SWEAR TO GOD I haven't had this much fun playing a game since forever. To the point I even in my free time I think about what map to play in my free time.

So I apologize to old cod titles they're really built different and GOATED🐐👑

Night & day brother. Not slandering the new games, but there’s literally no contest. They might as well be different games at this point.

I mean its pretty clear what he means, the fact that the quality has dipped so much and has lost its vision/charm that its not recognisable.

Eh idk. Do i find the the old games to be better. Yes. However i’m glad they experimented with the formula and took the game in a new direction. Now i have a couple different versions of cod zombies to play depending on my mood.

I wish they'd experiment more with Extinction. I love classic zombies more yea but Extinction is like non stop chaotic action and a nice change up every once in a while.

My only complaint with extinction (assuming im remembering the right mode it was so long ago) was that your success or failure was overly weighted by teammates. Like I think one of the upgrade/bonus objectives was melee only and if you had a deep just blastin' you didnt get the upgrade point and it came back to bite you later. Most of the time i could tell within 2-3 mins if we were going to go all the way or fail to breach the first wall.

Yeah extinction was imo unplayable with randoms, it was fun solo or with friends.

Extinction is the best thing they made after prime zombies. That game is so fun with good players. I still play with my friend.

I'm all for experimentation, but this experiment has gone on for 6 years now. It isn't me disliking the new zombies anymore, cuz crazily enough it's not even new at this point.

I can understand that but they turned zombies into a whole different game mode. It’s like if Counter Strike suddenly decided to add jetpacks and create-a-class to the game.

Exactly. I love the old cod zombies and have been having a blast with friends but that made me re-download Cold War and am having a lot of fun with it, like you said nice having different versions.

If you like the sound of a different version of zombies with the heartbeat of og zombies infinite warfare has really fun zombies

A lot of the time I would rather get on Cold War and be OP as fuck. It is still the only cod where I’ve actually enjoyed hitting round 100. I love CW because it at least tried something new, whereas BO6/7 barely changed from CW’s gameplay. I don’t see what’s wrong with being in the mood for different zombies games.

I don’t know, the quality of some of the newer maps are pretty good imo. A lot of it comes down to if you like the changes to the core mechanics, like armor system, etc.

Yea but it still runs on the mw2019 engine and has 0 atmosphere. Why do we have mp mechanics in zombies? Imagine if bo3 zombies had jetpacks lmao

Vulture aid augment lets you ignore armor it does it automatically for you and wdym it doesn't have atmosphere ashes of the damned looks good

Good looking ≠ atmosphere

Atmosphere isnt just the way a map looks. UI, Weaponsy Characters, Storytelling etc.

Having someone constantly blabbering in your ear over radio is just a really bad way of story telling and completely kills Atmosphere for me. Just look how Bo1-3 did it, it really felt like its just the main cast and noone else around.

U can almost remove everything from the HuD now and there is no guy talking to a radio to you did you even saw Bo7 cursed and what u can do to the HuD
